I don't understand, why this place gets any positive reviews at all. Everything is dated, the staff is indifferent at best and approximately a third of the patrons bring a "guest" over night to which the hotel turns a blind eye (and which is supposedly the reason for the high ratings). Worst of all is the wifi, for which you... More

Very comfortable and functional. A short walk from Lumpini MRT station. Friendly, helpful staff. Hot shower and good a/c. Decent 24hr restaurant on ground floor. Massage available on ground floor. 7-11 nearby for daily essentials. such as water and snacks. Also sells SIM cards and phone credit top ups. Close to Babylon for gay visitors. Only problem was with booking.... More

"Your home in Bangkok" I've heard it called although our gang used to call it "The Hotel California" !!! The Superior rooms are good & the Deluxe rooms are great. The rooms in the new wing are even better. Great food too & with 24 hour room service ..... it's just really a very good place. Good staff too &... More

It was a surprise booking by an acquaintance and definitely not the kind of place I would have preferred. Old, dated, though some might say charming and vintage - not really, to be honest. Guests are also mostly seniors, whom might like a place like this. Staff are friendly and attentive though, especially in the restaurant, where the food was... More

I stayed three weeks at Malaysia Hotel. The hotel have full service 24 hours. The room is simple but there was all the facilities I needed. The staff was very friendly and professional. A nice swimmingpool for lazy days. Well working wifi (extra charge ). The situation is central and close to the underground.

I've been staying here for nearly 20 years, and the price of a room has hardly changed in that time. (Nor have some of the faces behind the counter ;-) Although fairly basic, the rooms are clean and have good air-con and en-suite bathrooms, though the echoing corridors mean it's not always as quiet as one might like. The 24-hour... More

It's an old hotel, with old things, and the major part of the guets were really old too. The pool is ok. The localization is good, near the statio, near the lumphini park, near the shopping. The breakfast is paid and it´s just ok.

Great price right area for silom and the Babylon, the management has cleared out the rent boys from the night restaurant and the entrance area, a security guard now patrolsl so now its more enjoyable than previously. All the plumbing is efficient unlike the large hotel at the top of the soi which is also a well known gay friendly... More

Went there to have dinner with some friends. The restaurant is connected to the hotel and looks a bit old and in need of some TLC. We had a mix of dishes and they were good as was the service. Prices varied depending on your choice of cuisine. The spicy chicken was great as was the fish.

I stayed at the hotel for almost a week because my friend suggested to me. My trip to Bangkok was good and interesting but it was almost ruined by the rudeness of one of the staff at the hotel! It was just only one particular female staff who was rude and the others were pleasant. She once asked for my... More

Staying in Sathorn

Neighborhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
