We stayed at the OBI for 4 nights, choosing to start and end our trip there. Our last night was in the Rose Room, which was beautiful and the outside bath is fantastic. All of the rooms are individual and decorated very unusually but Thai style, with dark wood but with modern facilities like TV, DVD players and internet. The... more

We only had two nights in Bangkok but the Old Bangkok Inn was a very good base for an exploration of the cities highlights. Good restaurants such as the 'Hemlocks' but also the grand palace and the wats along the river are within walking distance unless you are one of these lazy folks. Breakfast is magnificent and service very supportive... more

During our honeymoon in Thailand, the Old Bangkok Inn became our "basecamp" in Bangkok. You wouldn´t find a better and more romantic place than this. The hotel is elegantly decorated and each of the eight rooms have their own style, with own bathroom. The host, Nantiya, and her staff are extremely service-minded and wonderful people. The breakfast was awesome, with... more

We stayed at the OBI for the second time in a year in April and were very happy we decided to return. Once again we enjoyed the attention to detail that characterises the OBI - the warm and extremely helfpul staff, the great breakfasts, the care and conern when one of us was ill for a day, the mobile phone... more

My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Thailand that included six nights at the Old Bangkok Inn. We chose to start our vacation in Bangkok and then leave for a short stay in Chiang Mai, with a return to Bangkok for the last portion of our trip. We decided to book the Rice Room, Jasmine Suite, Lemongrass... more

The Old Bangkok Inn's rooms and lobby are beautiful. (We stayed in one of the Rice rooms.) One thing to point out is that the bathroom has a curtain instead of a door, and a portion of the bathroom wall is constructed out of semi-transparent glass blocks. The bathroom, therefore, lacks some privacy. The free in-room computer and Internet were... more

The reviews below go way overboard in extolling this place. It was my first visit to Bangkok and I had a hard time deciding where to stay and especially which neighborhood to stay in. I was wary of staying in one of the well known, high end hotels on the river because I wanted a place that represented Bangkok....a place... more

The Old Bangkok is located on a quiet street in the old section of Bangkok, near the Democracy Monument and walking distance (a long walk) to the Grand Palace. We stayed in the Rice Room and found it spacious and extrememly comfortable. The water pressure is better than any place I've ever stayed. The staff was so incredibly friendly that... more

This hotel was all I hoped for and more. It's the only place I've been which matched up to its description and lived up to my expectations - I really did cry with joy when I walked into our room. The room was beautiful with great facilities and the little gifts each night left on the pillow were a wonderful... more

Really well located with a very helpful and friendly host, and beautiful rooms. It's a historic small hotel so very unique and a bit of a haven amidst the bustle of Bangkok. Also making good attempts to be eco-freindly too which is a bonus. We had an excellent stay here. more
