Somewhere along the way the staff at Banglumpoo stopped caring. The young lady at reception was unhelpful on arrival and was quick to take the cash than engage with us. The rooms are VERY basic. We stayed in a room which had a blocked shower drain and no shower curtain. The bed was as hard as a board and it... More

This hostel is suitable for backpackers only. It is extremely basic! If you are travelling on a budget, and are not too fussed about where you stay as long as there is a bed and a shower, then here is fine. There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby, which is unpredictable, A/C in the rooms (always a plus) and every... More

This place is truly awful, false advertising for everything included, breakfast is absolutely Notting like advertised cold and laying in any kind of option although it's meant to be buffet!! The staff are unhelpful and rude. Location is the only thing going for this place, I would say to avoid at all costs unless you truly can't help it!

The hotel smells musty and of cat's poo. Old and a bit worn our. The queen size bed is basic. The bathroom is ugly: old tiles, not clean, old shower. I needed to buy a detergent powder and clean it myself so I will be able to seat on the toilet bowl. Pros: 1) Buffet Breakfast is good and generous.... More

We're travelling south East Asia for 9 weeks, this unfortunately was our first Hostel. We paid £55 for 4 nights (per couple) wasn't expecting much but this was worse than expected. Service at reception was poor, we had to find our own name on the booking! The hostel was very dirty and is in serious need of a clean. The... More

The place is in a backstreet of an area that is supposed to be backpacker's heaven. Actually it should be called backpacker's curse. The surrounding is loud, dirty and full of hustling and scams. Do not follow anyone into the back alleys is my advice. We had a double bed room with on-suite bathroom and AC. The room itself was... More

It's in the best position, directly on the street but enough distance to don't hear any noise, the breakfast is really generous and they have everything, from noodle to marmelade, the price is cheap and the service it's ok! They rooms are not huge, but for the price is the most convenient one in this area. If I would come... More

It was pretty average. Standard cleanliness. Not all that clean. I'd come here for the cheap price, that's all. The breakfast buffet was a waste of money and there was flies on the fruit every day. It was close to Kho San Road which was a positive!

Great value for money in Bangkok. Air-conditioning, refrigerator and tv, in a friendly guest house. Towels and toiletries provided. A buffet breakfast is available. 30 second walk to the action of Khaosan Road, but located back behind all the noisy until 2.30am bars. I've stayed here many times over the past 4 months as I'm now living in north-east Thailand... More

This is an average hotel. It's conveniently located right on Koh San Road but set a bit back so you don't hear any noise if you don't want to. The rooms are quite small but ample enough. The air con turned off when you took the key out which was annoying because you would always return to a boiling room.... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
