It's not the first time I go there, and I keep returning, first, because I like the pool, second, because I like the situation... To me, it's a good place to unwind after coming out of a long plane trip... Sure, this place has a look coming straight out of the 50s... And probably, it didn't change a lot since... More

We had been crossing Asia (1974!), you know, Istanbul, Mt. Ararat, Tabriz, Teheran, Herat, Kandahar, Kabul,The Khyber Pass, Amritsar, Kashmir, and finally New Delhi. Back then, young, but so tired, sick and bedraggled, flew into Bangkok (Pan Am) and checked into the Miami. What a treat ,air conditioning, flush toilet, hot shower, pool, and coffee shop. One of the most pleasant hotel experiences of... More

Pros: 1. excellent position, I reach it on my own, coming from the airport, as it is few minutes from Asok Bts/Mrt stop. In the middle of Sukhumvit Road, which is one of the most crowded and lively places in town, full of restaurants, pubs, street food vendors, shops etc. 2. when I came back for the last two days... Couple staying here for New Year's Eve. It's a very old and basic, but it's clean and has hot water. 1,500b a night. Average place, ok if you're just looking for somewhere to shower and sleep. Very good location, close to many bars and restaurants of Sukhumvit. Service at the reception was good and they have a car park.

We were staying in a family suite room ! Suprise to note that they have price same for triple room and for family room ! Family room is spacious with all necessary room ameneties like aircon,tv etc but shower does not full fill the requirements ! The water flowing from the shower is too slow that one has to take... While the value for money isn't too bad, there are a lot of other hotels in Bangkok for the same price that are cleaner, more comfortable and feel less dodgy than this one. We only stayed one night and it was fine for what it was: a budget, basic room in the centre of Bangkok. But it had few redeeming... More

For about US$30 (depending on the US$ exchange), I would say the hotel was a steal. Renovated rooms with great AC and LED TV, large sized room and bathroom - we were very happy. The property has been in operation since 1965 and I was back in this property after almost 20 years (stayed in various other hotels over the... More

This place is definitely a hotel rather than a hostel. The communal areas in the lobby and out front are quiet. This is the reason that my opinion of it is that's not a great place to meet people, even though it would be better if the hotel was busier. The location isn't ideal because it is outside of the... Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighborhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
