Friends suggested we stay here during our few nights in Bangkok and we weren't disappointed. Staff is helpful and friendly. Restaurant is pleasant - only had breakfast there. Pool was out of commission as they were doing some repairs. Rooms are small & basic, wi-fi is good, AC works well. Were able to store luggage after we checked out. Close... More

I may have stayed in this ever so conveniently located guest house 5 or more times, the first time over 12 years ago. I have felt hot and cold about the place but this time around, I was very impressed. First of all, the humble rooms are well-kept. The pool, even when busy, is a lovely escape from the din... More

This hotel is absolutely great choice for those, who want to be close to Khao San, temples and china town. Room was clean, size ok. No noise in the night. We enjoyed the most swimming pool and restaurant/lobby area.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for the first two nights of our hoilday in Thailand. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. There is air con, free wifi and a lovely restaurant downstairs. The pool is very small and overlooked by the restaurant. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a ferry stop near to... More

Incredible how this hotel can be so quiet while it's just a few minutes walk away from the touristic street as Khoa San etc. Very friendly staff, very helpful with all our questions for trips and transportation. Breakfast is fine. The pool is a big cold since it's in the shadow the entire day. We ended our trip here and... More

This is not the best place in Bangkok, but it is cheap and clean, and near to Khaosan road if you are interested in this turistic place. Btw, the staff will not give you useful suggestions about how to travel around by yourself, of course because they sell tours and they have agreements with taxi drivers. So don't ask for... More

We arrived in Bangkok as a family of 3 people with no booking in the early evening. The staff here pulled out the stops to accommodate us, even though they were clearly busy. The room (in the new section, 5th floor: lift available) was clean, large with TV, air-con, fridge and safe for valuables in the room...free WIFI, towels and... More

Staying at the New Siam II was a pleasure. Easy Check in, clean room, nice pool and poolside restaurant. Wifi is limited but better in the restaurant. An extra charge of 75TBH. Walking to nice areas is easy and good location for water bus lines.

The best about this guesthouse is its location. It's close to the Khao-San road area with its restaurants, bars, shops etc but just outside so you can enjoy that but don't have the noise from it! Also it's close to the river bus pier 13 which is great for sight seeing wat pho, china town etc and grand palace on... More

New Siam II is a good hotel on a great location. Located on Phra-A-Thit Road, between the river and Soi Ram Buttri, next to Khao San Road. It is near to Pier Prah Arthit. Phra-A-Thit Road has a lot of shops, restaurants and bars with live music (pop-rock-jazz). The hotel is just good, nothing more. Upon request they will clean... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
