We arrived at 4am after an overnight bus. A room was available. Since we were paying a full room rate and normal check out time was midday I asked if it would be possessive to check out at 2pm instead of midday. The woman at reception who was very unhelpful said that yes a 2 on check out would be... More

The room we got was okay but you can get an higher standard for the same or even less money around khao san road. Staff was very unfriendly except the guy at the reception. The Wifi was not working most of the time. Toilet flush also flooded the bathroom every time we used it.

Myself and my boyfriend originally booked the amarin inn across the road, when we arrived after a full day of travelling from Bali we were told they were actually full (no email or anything to advise us) and sent us across to the KS house as this is their friend?! We got into the reception, it's fairly bleak needs a... More

Pros: - great location near 7/11, khao san road, and the grand palace - laundry service available - decent view, and quiet room - basic toiletries supplied; toilet paper, soap and clean towels Cons: - overpriced - rooms are tiny just barely fit a bed in the room - bathroom is so tiny that the toilets get wet when you... Stayed here for 3 nights, it's very simple but has everything you need and is clean! Location is great just a 5 minute walk to Koh San Road but still far enough away if you want to sleep. At £11 pounds a night we weren't expecting anything amazing but it's good enough and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We had pre-booked this hotel through booking.com for 3 nights. We asked them in advance if they arrange airport pickup - they replied by email and said they couldn't arrange it. When we arrived and told them we had reservations they didn't have any record of us. Weird, but fortunately they had a room available for us. The room was... More

Was recommended this place by a friend. Very good location, only issue is getting the taxi driver to find it, but this seems the same issue with any taxi in Bangkok if it's not a main attraction! It worked out about a tenner for a nights stay, perfect for me as I was staying here solo before meeting friends the... More

This one of the backpackers delights, I can't remember exactly what was paid for our double fan room. However I know it was under $8 for two people. This is cheap, like a lot of hostels in Bangkok, but with a television also, I can't think of fairer price. Clean room and I'd happily stay here again I'm the future.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
