This older style hotel is clean and affordable. While it is quite a way from the city centre it is close to the airport and a major shopping mall which makes it a good option for travellers having only having a short stay. While the breakfast selection is not the greatest the food is good and plentiful. Taxi to the... More

We inhabit in 7th floor .It was quit and comfortable.cleanness was ok,breakfast was also fine and had a great view to the city and canal. The bad point about this hotel is that it's far from city centre.Although there's city canal just in back street and you can get to the city centre by boat fast and cheap .Over all I... This hotel's location really wouldn't suit a tourist as it is a long way out of the city, but okay for a stopover as it is only 20 minutes to the airport. Shower was clean but hot water was lacking. Breakfast was Asian oriented with only a small choice for Westerners (no eggs being cooked by the chef). The staff... More

It looks to me like an old hotel that hasn't been properly maintained. Room (executive) was good size, but very old furniture. Not proper hot water, most I got was warm. Food was very average It's far away

Not really a tourist hotel, used more for conventions and large groups. Does have a large shopping mall and night market nearby and close to river canal stop for getting into town. Not near any railway stations so need to rely on taxis for transport. Quiet room, adequate air conditioning, terrible shower, clean pool. Pleasant staff and good breakfast.

I am grudgingly giving this hotel two stars. My husband and I were booked here by Cathay Pacific for two nights due to flight problems. The hotel appears to cater to large youth groups, which makes sense given its poor quality and barely mediocre food. A previous reviewer described the hotel decor as "tired" and "dingy" and those words accurately... More

We chose this hotel as we were visiting family in the area. Our room had a great view over the canal, but this was the best thing about it. Decoration is very tired, and the corridors are dark and dingy. There are two lifts serving the upper floors and they take forever to arrive. Pool area was dirty, but the... More

we have stayed at the alexander hotel many times and have always enjoyed our stay there. the staff are always very friendly and efficient. the rooms we have used have always been clean and spacious and reasonably priced. with the new airport now open, the alexander is now conveniently placed for easy access to and from the airport.
