There are many ways to run a guesthouse. And then there is simply "i-don't-give-a-damn". The matriarch of this joint, let's call her 'Madam Swan', is a smart, straightforward old lady and runs a simple and spartan ship and doesn't care what you think of her business or business practices. If you arrive in Bangkok without a reservation, this is a... More

Absolutely brilliant food, staff, and atmosphere. Well worth the money, and the chocolate kebabs are a hit with the kids. The live grills are open all the time that food is being served and the staff can't wait to cook for you. Overall a really enjoyable night.

I stopped there two times in 2013 and 2015. It is not luxury but what can we expect from the place for 120 baht, still it is not bad and you have your own private room while many dormitories around charge for 200 or more per night. One very umcomfortable thing is not having sockets in the rooms, so I... More

Do not use the bus services that leave from Peachy Guest House !!! You will get robbed! Bus staff went into my bag that was in the hold and went through it looking for something to steal! There are warning signs up saying not to leave valuables in your bags and to keep them on you, but my torch was... More

120B for a single room. Beds are usually hard as rock. And it can be noisy at the front (bangkok never sleeps). But is ok at the back and sides of the building. Bathrooms are shared. The owners clean the bathroom/showers and re-fill toilet paper EVERY MORNING. Dirty girls and boys who give other travellers a bad name, then do... More

Don't book any bus from Peachy Guest House !! The driver and his friend will steale your money and stuff in your backpacks and even in your hand bags. I booked two bus for Chiang Mai and then Koh Tao. To Chiang Mai they stole me 200 euros / 300 dollars while I was asleep and my hand bag was... More

It may be cheaper than surrounding budget options, yet it is for a reason. The staff is rude, unhelpful and you get a feeling of being unwelcome. We could not even show our friend (non- resident) to the room, as the receptionist crossed our way shouting at us. We spoke to the manager about the incident. Manager shouted even louder.... More

The room is good enough, cheap and I didn't expect more than that. But the inconvenience is they dont have any plug sockets in rooms, just a public area on 2nd floor (always full of people). The guesthouse is near Khao San but quite. You have to pay by day, before 10am. Don't take a tour at the tourist desk... More

This place is cheap - 120 baht for a single room (shared bathroom) whereas similar rooms nearby are about 180 baht. The key deposit is 200 baht. The Wifi is 60 Baht for 24 hours with a good connection. Located 10 min walk to Khao san Road. The rooms and bathrooms are clean but there aren't any plug sockets in... More

We didn't actually stay at this guesthouse but we booked a tour through the company that have a desk in their lobby - a day trip to tiger temple and a few other places, mainly because they had the cheapest rate. we were told that they couldn't do a hotel pick up for us the morning, we had to be... Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
