Rooms were clean but experience somewhat spoiled. Stayed 3 nights. Day 1 - found a half eaten M&M's packet in the fridge, informed housekeeper and then reception. Nothing was done. Not a great location, but nice clean rooms. Relatively closer to airport than ones downtown. Relatively far from downtown shopping or any public transit stations. If travelling with more than two it is cheaper to take a taxi downtown and spend day there. Close to Chuk-ta-chuk market (still need to take taxi/tuk tuk there). Food okay. Nice pool. Clean, cosy and warm environment. The food for breakfast is great and delicious. Staff are polite and friendly. Room is clean, size is just right---not too big and empty, neither is it too small and depriving. Great value for money. Gold Orchid was a nice modern hotel with swimming pool and friendly staff. No reall complaints about the hotel other than it was away from the heart of Bangkok.
