We used this hotel for 2 nights and it was good choice. Perfect spot for sightseeing: Palace and others main monuments are in walk range or you can hire many kind of transportation services before hotel. It is on the rush shopping / restaurant street for tourists and like 2 blocks from Khao San road (main shopping street) so you... More

Great location, a 5 minute walk through the next block to Khao San Road. Very noisy though if you have a room on the street. Shower ceiling is literally about 10cm above your head so don't stay here if you are tall or planning to wash your hair! Reception were great and gave me a free late checkout when I... More

When I come to Bangkok I like to stay in this street, it's not so busy as Khao san road . I stay in this hotel 2 times, the first wasn't so pleasant because we didn't had hot water , and after a long flight I like to have a nice shower. The second time I stay on the 7... More

I went to Bangkok a few years ago. The Viengtai Hotel had an excellent breakfast buffet, clean rooms (although they are very plain and dark) and toilet facilities in and out the rooms , friendly and patient staff and easy access to Khoa San Road. The pool on the roof was great but doesn't get much sunlight so the water... More

All the other reviews are 100% accurate. We stayed here at the end of our intrepid tour and prebooked an extra 3 nights. DON'T!!! Friends payed a little extra for a lot more. Whilst the location is good...nightlight, street markets etc.. the hotel is dated and felt unclean. When we arrived we had to ask housekeeping to empty the waste... More

Stayed here in December with husband and 2 children (10+13). We didn't find the front desk staff to be helpful - despite asking for an extra bed when we booked online there was none in the room - we then had to remind again when hours later still no bed. It's also really noisy ! I was expecting some noise... More

Hotel is quite loud at night which is obvious considering where it's located. Ask for a room at the back if you want it quieter. Staff are friendly and rooms are average run of the mill. The breakfast is okay, the fresh omelette station is great.

This hotel is the starting point for Intrepid group tours and while the reception area is modern and appealing, the actual rooms really have seen better days. They're a little tired to say the least. They are spacious though. That said the breakfast is good and the hotel is quiet - which is no mean feat considering it is in... More

We chose to spend our New Year's Eve at Khao San Road (KSR) and decided to stay in this hotel for that night. It's only less than 10 minutes walking distance to KSR. We love the location as it's as convenient as KSR where you have lots of restaurants along the street. It's a decent stay as it's a quite... More

Excellent location: right in the middle of a bustling pub/dining street and one street over from Kao San Street (shopping!). Because of this location it can be quite loud in the evening. Extremely dated; no modern fixtures at all. Does not have air-conditioning (just a fan type thing). Terrible bathroom: Toilet is easily blocked, shower is not adjustable and the... More
