Rooms were simple but you can't ask for a better location. It is just far enough away from the night markets so it isn't too noisy, but close enough to enjoy the nightlife, restaurants and markets were are located in this area.

This place is perfect if you want to explore Bangkok! Location is superb, right in busy Khosan rd area with plenty of restaurants, markets, temples etc in the area. We had basic room but it was clean and offered everything we needed. We did not get disturbed at night by the busy street outside as you get at many other... More

We stayed here for a night as part of a Contiki tour. I have to say the location was phenomenal. While the area is as touristy as you can get (ie. they had carts selling scorpions and other insects as snacks - which only tourists were eating as a novelty), it is exciting, and like being in another world. The... More

If you've traveled to Bangkok before, you would know what to expect already. I was gearing towards the last leg of my odyssey around Asia and i just arrived in Bangkok. With no prior booking, i was looking for the best place to stay around Khao San. I already knew that staying at Viengtai Hotel would not be cheap. It's... More

Great location, set on a tourist strip full of bars and restaurants. Stayed on 8th floor facing the strip. Couldn't sleep whatsoever so if you want somewhere quiet do not stay here Room was clean. Was looking forward to having a bath after a 10 hour road journey only to find there was no hot water! Checked out early morning... More

i stayed there like 5-6 times in the last 4 years, every time i have to spend the weekend in Bangkok. The good thing about it is that Chabad House of BKK is just across the street, so there you have a full service (shabat prayers and kosher meals) thru all Shabat. the rooms in the hotel have regular (not... Spent one night here as part of an arranged tour, hotel is in a great location for the bars and restaurants unless you want to sleep at night, very noisy till early hours but we were so tired it didn't bother us that much with having an early start Hotel was of an acceptable standard however we had a dreadful... After more that 2 decades we were grateful to spend six of the last days of the Viengtai we have come to love. A couple of days after we left the Viengtai closed for refurbishment - could be up to two years we were told. An agreement has been signed with the Accor group to manage the refurbished venue as... My girlfriend and I stay here for our first few nights in Thailand. We paid £30 (1500 baht) night between us which isn't bad. We found it really nice, it was big rooms and nice bathrooms. The bed was comfy an the room was cool due to good ac. However the food was awful, don't eat her it isn't very... More
