Good hotel. Clean and friendly. Very convenient. Rooftop pool wasva welcome break from the hustle below. Thoightfully designed. The new canal-side restaurant will be spectacular when completed. Great local cafes all around.

This hotel is a near perfect home base for touring Bangkok. Essentially on walking distance from every major site, getting there shouldn't be a problem. Walking isn't necessarily the way to get around Bangkok ofcourse, but it's a safe backup. The river is nearby and the ferry's plentiful and cheap. With taxi's and tuktuks you can get anywhere fast and... More

Finished group tour here, very impressed. Super location. Palace etc walkable. Close to nightlife and shopping with quieter bars and restaurants directly opposite. Pool on roof lovely bonus! Good filling buffet breakfast. Stayed three nights v happy.

Stayed here for one night as part of a group tour. The hotel had a lovely room, with nice bathroom. The pool facilities were nice and breakfast was varied and good. We stayed in the Canal wing which is at the back of the hotel which I am guessing is the cheaper rooms, but still I have no complaints!

This was a the hotel we stayed at as part of our Indochina Experiment tour with Intrepid Adventures. Being our first time to Bangkok it certainly wasn't 5 star but was very comfortable and had what was required with the check in and support staff very helpful. At the end of our trip we were running late and wanted to... More

We stayed here for 5 nights with my cousin in September 2014. We checked-in just after midnight and thought the hotel would be amazing from the looks of the hotel lobby but we were very quickly disappointed when we got to our room. There are two hotels (Nuovo and New World City) who basically share the same lobby, amenities, etc.... More

Stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour, clean, neat accommodation in Banglamphu, lots of eateries nearby & close to Koh San Road. I'd recommend staying here for a few nights to a week. The Koh San area is difficult to read from Sukhumvit, so depending on where you're spending most of your time in BKK, I'd choose accommodation to... More

Have stayed here a couple of times. The refurbishment has improved it. It's not super luxurious & staff are hit and miss but good location, quiet for BKK. Breakfast is costly but there are good options all around. All the cafes opposites are good.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
