as a result of the Icelandic volcano we were forced to find cheap accommodation to prevent my children sleeping on the airport floor, We picked the Atlanta from a guide book as their prices were ideal and one thing I can say in their favour is that they were able to provide adjoining rooms at very short notice!! After that... More

I stayed for three nights and then returned two weeks llater for another night. The suite was spacious and the linen spotlessly clean. I had a most comfortable stay with A/C and plenty of hot water. The swimming pool is large and a little run down but the water quality is excellent. The beer in the restaurant was the cheapest... More

My wife and I usually stay in 4 or 5 star hotels, yet we have stayed at the Atlanta four times in as many years. Why? Sure the price is right; in fact, it can’t be beat. But the rooms at the Atlanta are dark, spartan, and lack a view. The pool’s tiles are chipped, just waiting to stub a... More

We are cycling around the world and having read the (mixed) reviews on here decided to give it a go. We liked the idea of the character of the place. We called up and booked but when we arrived (somewhat dirty and needing showers!) with our bike we were told there was no where to keep the bikes. We have... More

The Atlanta is a famous old-timey, small and reasonably-priced hotel in a good location in Bangkok. There is a good restaurant with an attentive staff on the premises. It is old, so don't expect everytihing spic and span but it is comfortable and a great respite from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

A great little hotel full of character, stuck in the 1950's and all the better for it. We loved it and would definitely stay again. Has a nice restaurant and pool with a turtle pond nearby. A bit off the beaten track but within easy reach of public transport.

Reading the reviews I sort of agree with most, the good and the bad ones. The Atlanta is in a great location, and it is a clean hotel. The pool is quite nice. The prices are VERY low so is a great deal. Do not expect a friendly staff or anything else. If you have a lot of personality you... More

No doubt about it, the Atlanta is a special place and you can't beat the price. Thee downsides are: an insufferably bunch of snobbish owners/managers and a pool way past its prime. The upsides are: an amusing and unforgettable bunch of owners/managers and a pool and turtles! The bottom line is there is no other place like it.

Our stay was an experience. The downstairs part of the Atlanta smelt like it had been mopped with a mop that had just been used in a school toilet. The building is lovely and has character, however this seems to mean it doesn't need to be maintained and so can just be part of the character. The location is ok... More

I was refused a reservation at this hotel and later discovered that it was because I was traveling with a friend from India. I discoverd later that the hotel does not want Indians staying in their hotel. This is just outrageous. I could never support a business like this.
