This was a very nice hotel. Although it's right on a big street, it feels very serene, away from the hustle of the Bangkok streets. The room was gorgeous, Asian-modern. I didn't make it up there for drinks at the Vertigo Bar, but the view was pretty great from the Saffron restaurant. The dinner at this restaurant was very good,... more

From reading the review posted by the previous reviewer (about the Banyan being a second hand property) the fairly minor problems with our stay make much more sense. Our first room's air conditioning did not work at all and we had to switch rooms. While our second room's air conditioning worked fine (although it sometimes took an annoyingly long time... more

Banyan bought the building when it was the Westin and I can only assume the group wanted to capitalise on the long term business traveller business potential in BKK. I say long term as the business in BKK in 2009 is somewhat down in the dumps. So, having been a 2nd hand property, it is somewhat dated. They renovated it... more

The Banyan Tree group prides itself in being a 'premium luxury resort' for all its guests, however we were disappointed with our stay at the Banyan Tree - Bangkok. Its 5 star accolade is something we definitely questioned on numerous occasions throughout our stay. The hotel is located in the heart of Bangkok's financial district and our taxi had to... more

The Banyan Tree Bangkok really knows how to treat people well. It is the kind of place where you can feel people around you are trying hard always to cater to your needs. The staff is courteous and efficient, and most eager to want your feedback to make the hotel better, which is something that's rare in today's hotel business.... more

Stayed here after we found that they have a package deal for 2 nights with dinner and spa. We were already staying in a cheap hotel nearby but can't resist taking the package deal so moved here for 2 nights. The stay was excellent and the first time I paid for a 5-star hotel and well worth it! The restaurant... more

I stayed here and @ the JW Marriott while in Bangkok. Overall, given the choice, I'd suggest the JW was better mainly due to the gym (probably x2 or x3 the size), but the room I was in in the Banyan tree was larger, and arguably a better layout. The buffet breakfast and dinner here has many choices of delicious... more

I arrived in the afternoon after a long and tiring journey. The welcome I received was unbelievable. I felt like Royalty. Check in was swift and friendly. My cases were taken from me and I was escorted to my room. Nothing was too much trouble. As a person travelling on their own I was made to feel very welcome and... more

It is not The Oriental or even the Shangri-la, but for what it costs, Banyan tree is right up there with all the top suites in town. Compare to suites from LeBua, Dusit Thani, Prathunwan Princess, Emporium, Continental, Sofitel and the popular Penisular, Banyan Tree is the best for your money. I do like the decor, as it is a... more

My husband and I stayed at the Banyan Tree for 5 nights and loved every minute of it!!! I arrived early in the morning by myself and was given an instant check in since I was by myself. My husband arrived later and he wanted a change of room for the want of a better view...and the staff was very... more
