Recently returned from the Pen in Bangkok. Not the same class as its relative in Hong Kong. Location not good - wrong side of the river - traffic very busy so getting anywhere seemed to take an eternity. The hotel is hi-tech but very low on atmosphere. Really quite clinical - no sign of the Thai hospitality that keeps people... More

My wife and I travel frequently, and just returned from a trip to Cambodia and Thailand, we began and ended our trip with stays at the Penninsula. The hotel and service was wonderful and consistent with its reputation. The spa is about to be finished (we used the Oriental Spa, which was a two minute walk from the hotel). I... More

My husband and I stayed at The Peninsula recently for two nights in a balcony room (we had booked the deluxe grand and was upgraded to a balcony room for only an extra $20usd per night - well worth it!) and we were very impressed with the service in particular at this hotel....from the onset of being picked up in... This has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in. While it is a modern hotel and lacks some of the character of the Oriental it certainly makes up for this with its well designed rooms and excellent service. The rooms are spacious, very well sound proofed with every amenity and extremely comfortable. The service is 5... More

This is supposed to be one of the best hotels in the world, and from the point of view of the building and facilities, that is somewhat justified. But the attitude of SOME (not all) of the staff is not appropriate for a hotel of this calibre. My wife is Asian, and it was clear that the bellman and the... More

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. We live in Dubai and have stayed in 7-star hotels here, but the Peninsula is by far the best hotel I've visited. The facilities are superb, the rooms excellent, and the staff are friendly and very efficient. I am British and my wife is Thai and we were made to... More

I decided to stay at the Peninsula because of the raves it received on its reviews here and the travel magazines. I was expecting luxury rooms along with the highest standard of service. I must say the rooms are nice, the bathrooms amazing: especially the TV above the bathtub. However, I paid for a regular room and was absolutely disgusted... More

We last stayed in this hotel 5 years ago and it was nice to see this time some improvements and a new spa being built. The property has been well mantained during that period and the rooms and facilities are still first rate. Service standards were excellent the first time round and they have continued in the same vain. It's... More
