Had afternoon tea in lobby, overlooking river. Started with glass of champagne followed by selection of cakes and sandwiches on three tier stand and proper Earl Grey tea. Very helpful staff. Trio of piano, bass and clarinet entertained from three pm, playing some well know standards at a leisurely pace. All in all a great experience.

This is the third year running we have stayed at this wonderful hotel on the river opposit Mandarin Oriental. The service is generally sublime with a knack for serving almost before you think you want something. Try the Chinese restaurant for tasty dim sum. Go to the spa for the best massage in the world. Wonderfully designed bedrooms, all class.... More

Stayed 4 nights at the Peninsula; first time in Bangkok. With the riverside location and frequent free water shuttle offered by the hotel, the location was very convenient. Easy to get to the sky train or public water taxi. The rooms were great, the pool very nice, breakfast was high quality. We also had two meals at the Thai restaurant,... More

Dear gr668, Bangkok is certainly a very hectic city but staying on the river provides a little respite from this, particularly in the mornings and evenings when the river can be quite tranquil. This of course is also helped greatly by some of the warmest and friendliest people you will find anywhere in the world. Hospitality is in the blood... More

We stayed here from 31jan- 01feb for 2 nights and fell in love with the hotel. We had a nice river view room and really liked everything. The hotel boat service is really nice and quiet prompt as well. They have direct access to train station which is the fastest. Only disappointment was breakfast as not many options are there... Beautiful room with floor to ceiling windows and a stunning view of Bangkok; great position with absolutely stunning pool area; wonderful restaurants; really superb service; really smelly air conditioning! We hugely enjoyed our three nights on the 29th floor, but the devil's in the detail and it was a great shame that our room has that slightly troubling musty smell... More

My favourite hotel in Bangkok - a timeless classic: superb service, fantastic food and the best place to sit by the river at Happy Hour time with a Gin Tonic or Dry Martini in hand! The Peninsula is also surprisingly child friendly, despite not having any facilities specifically geared towards kids. But the three tiered pool works great for kids,... More
