Stayed at the Metropolitan for 3 days while in Bangkok. The hotel is really a 'business hotel' although we were only there on a holiday. The hotel itself is very clean, rooms clean etc. Everything you'd expect from a tier one business hotel. There isn't much immediately around the hotel, however shopping is only about 10-15 minutes walk. At the... More

This hotel is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The rooms are just lovely, ours even had it's own courtyard which was a nice surprise! We were welcomed with some delicious herbal tea, and there was a great selection of tea in the room. The service was top notch and very helpful, and we found our stay to be good value. The... More

Bangkok is a very competitive market, and the metropolitan, though impressively stylish with some nice touches, just doesn't offer good value at all. The city rooms are unpleasantly pokey and very sub-par compared to what you might get for the same price elsewhere. The metropolitan room is much, much nicer but significantly more expensive. Wifi is not free, in contrast... More

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for taking time to share your recent experience at the Metropolitan Bangkok on Tripadvisor. I have read with concern that our city room fell below your expectation. We have a selection of other room type to cater for different needs and the city room is suitable for single business traveller due to its compact size. On... More

My boyfriend and I went to Bangkok for the first time in early November and we had the pleasure of staying at this very chic hotel. It has been a terrible year in terms of flooding in Bangkok and up until the day we left, I was constantly checking on the water conditions in downtown Bangkok with the hotel to... More

Despite the floods, the Metropolitan worked like clockwork. Work continues on the refurb but after nearly eight years, this is still a hotel that is hard to fault. Only (small) quibble is the internet access, which is a) variable quality & b) keeps dropping registration, so you have to go through it all over again for each device.

From the moment we arrived, until the morning we left we were very impressed by the service and surrounds of Metropolitan Bangkok. It's offset from the main road which makes it quieter. Very sophisticated lobby and room. The bathroom was huge. Views from our room only so so. But the little touches and the service was memorable. We loved the... More

For those who have never been to Bangkok, forget what you have heard, and get on the next plane. For those who have visited, consider this property as a step away from the large and maddening crowd. This hotel is small by standards of the big chains. There are 12 stories, and we stayed in a penthouse suite on the... More

Second stay at The Metropolitan and both have been excellent. The rooms are fairly minimalist and some might find them a little bit bland, but I liked them - nothing super exciting but spacious and comfortable. Go for the Metropolitan Room above the City Room. The bar by reception is excellent and they do some great cocktails. Also ate at... More

The stay in the Metropolitan Hotel in Bangkok was an absolute pleasure. The spa is stunning and very relaxing. The pool is clean and large. The rooms are clean and huge, The bathroom is large enough to accommodate several people if necessary!! The size of the bed is also humongous. Food was well prepared and good. Only one negative point:... More

Metropolitan Bangkok is off a main road, adjacent to the Banyan Hotel. The hotel is kept very clean, including the rooms. The room sizes are quite large, with plenty of natural light. I found the restaurant options top-notch, providing excellent, fresh food. Glow offers organic food options in a relaxed, yet simple setting. I give the facilities and restaurants five... More
