Hotel was ok, but not great. I was actually surprised to learn it is 4*. I would say it's 3* standard. Room was good size and clean, bathroom clean as well. Internal design acceptable but not amazing. Hotel advertizing free WIFI in every room, we were on 12th floor and there was no Internet. I managed to connect literally for... More

Pros - good location in China Town, walking distance distance to river free, markets and great street food, room was ok Cons - in this huge city of wireless and free wifi spots, wifi was extremely poor or non existent at this hotel - none in our room even after being rebooted. Made things difficult as our trip information etc... More

Didn't stay at the hotel but went to the revolving restaurant and wished we hadn't bothered. It wasn't busy during our visit, we ordered 1 starter and 3 mains. After 40 minutes the starter arrived then 5 minutes later 2 of the mains. The 3rd main didn't arrive until we asked for it 1 1/4 hours into our time, it... More

Location is very good and accesible. The view from the hotel is amazing. Breakfast is not very tasty, do not take tours with them, they are expensive. The room is a little outdated and it seemed to me a little overpriced, considering the quality of the hotel.

The place offers delicious breakfast buffet for guests. However, this is far from the Bangkok City Proper but just one bus ride to and from the city. Grand China Princess has friendly staff. They also provide room grooming everyday. But this hotel is not recommended for budget travellers. This is good for business meetings and conferences. Price is a bit... More

The foyer of this hotel offers a Starbucks and a pushy limo driver . You also get the offer of a tailor at least a few times , Clearly the staff here work on commission or they own taxi and tour services . One gentlemen we have met in 3 days that we don't need to avoid, he works on... More

One night stay. Still a great option for those who want to explore the markets of Chinatown, or Grand Palace by riverboat. Renovated revolving restaurant one of the best kept secrets in Bankgok, and a great place to take in views of the major monuments and the river at night. The 10th floor dining room/cafe has at last had a... More

Had to move rooms because of our extra guest. Second room was lovely. The views were fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful organising excursions. Staying in China town however wasn't very convenient for sight seeing and restaurants. This hotel was part of a package deal. If I was to go again, I'd stay more central.

When I booked the hotel the reservation said "two twin beds or one double" and I indicated it was our honeymoon and would prefer a double in the reservation. I guess it's my own fault for not booking another room (I feel like the option wasn't even there on Expedia) but when we arrived we were told there was only... More

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
