I have stayed at st James for quite a few years over 10 year period. The times I have stayed staff were always great. Rooms clean. And value for money. You are on soi 26 not far from sky train and many old and new shopping centres.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff, good location, comfortable rooms. Walking distance to the Emporium mall and sky train. Buffet breakfast pretty pricy since it's not included in the room stay. The hotel was very quiet and does have a nice pool.

This is a fairly average hotel. Good location in Bangkok district of Sukhumvit and right next door to the Hilton doubletree your close to the train line and malls. Staff are pleasant, and room was tidy and clean. Bit dated and could do with a fresh lick of paint in the near term. When checking in, we were given a... More

Very nice and safe area to stay in, our room was nice and clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The only complaint that I have is the bed was very hard. Other then that the A.C. worked really well and there is a safe and mini fridge in the room!

The hotel was impeccable. The room, beautiful. Gorgeous wood floors and accents. Crisp, white sheets. A/C worked well. Orchids everywhere. Snacks in the room. The breakfast the following day was spectacular with both American and Thai options. We had an amazing time!

Hotel St. James is well maintained through out the building and rooms. Staff are friendly and hospitable. There has been work to keep up to date with new linen, floors, tv and decorating which I like. The room is older then it seems because they have well updating it and keeping it fresh and appealing. Value for money and good... More

Good location, very near BTS Phrom Phong and Emporium. About 5-7 mins walk. It's right beside the Doubletree hotel. There is a Korean spa nearby (I wanted to go but ran out of time) and a Japanese Onsen (a short taxi ride away). There is a yummy ramen place about 7 mins walk away. Nice clean room. Breakfast is acceptable... More

The hotel is located in downtown, only 5-10 mins walk to Skytrain, but it's surrounded by many massage place, so when we came back to Hotel late, sometimes there are many gentlemen were walking in the street with pretty young girls, nothing dangerous, just felt a bit uncomfortable. But must said the service is awesome, and the front desk stuffs... More

The hotel is conveniently located about 5 minutes walk to the Phrom Phong BTS and in the Emporium shopping district. The price is awesome and staff service is good. The room is big and the room facilities is adequate. The only problem is the room looks a little old and is in need of some minor facelift.

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighborhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
