It was quiet, in a non-tourist neighbourhood, and really easy to get to from the train. I only stayed two nights, but Joy was so welcoming and relaxed I wish I could have stayed a week. I'd even recommend it to my mum.

Clean, basic hostel with outside common area, perfect for a couple of days going through Bangkok. Joy is friendly and has a great sense of humour, she's doing a great job! My only criticism is that the hostel needs a bigger sign or, a sign as it's difficult to locate and not on google maps app yet, only the web... More

The Hostel was very clean and easy to find. The host named Joy was alright, but she made one too many weird remarks about german people, which could be taken as an offense if you don't like the sarcastic attitude of Joy. Also the mix of people wasn't too nice, any other hostel I've been to before on this trip... More

I arrived to Bangkok on a hot & sweaty Saturday evening and was met with an amazing & friendly group of fellow travellers chatting away over some beers. I felt as if I'd arrived at home. Joy has a lovely, cheeky sense of humour and I quickly developed a bond with her, I really think she was made for hosting... More

The owner Joy made this place. She really helped us with booking onward travel as we were going to get the train to the Cambodian border after looking at out of date information on Seat 61. She told us about a new government bus we could get that would take us all the way to Siem Reap which actually worked... More

We only stayed in Bangkok for two nights and didn't spend much time in the guesthouse. It seems like a nice place and the owner was very friendly, but also seemed a little bit distracted sometimes. We arrived quite late and didn't actually feel that much welcome... The good thing is that the guesthouse is located in a more authentic... More

This little gem of a hostel is extremely close to the Wongwian Yai BTS station (5 mins walk) but smack bang in a Thai residential area. It's not touristy at all, and is surrounded by street food, shops, markets and real Thai life. Joy who runs the hostel is an amazing host, knows everything there is to know about anything... More

The U baan guesthouse is an excellent place to discover Bangkok from. It is conveniently located at 5 minutes walking from the skytrain, 10 minutes by bus to the grand palace district and in the middle of a typical Thai neighbourhood with plenty of great street food within a radius of 200 meter. The best part of staying is however... More
