I booked a 1 night stay here as I had to catch an early morning train to the Cambodian border. It was fairly good for 1 night. Staff have been really nice and helpful as I mixed up my arrival date. It's also close to very good cafes and restuarants. I felt that the wifi connection could have been better.

The room was very nice. We only stayed a couple of nights. It was a little noisy outside as you are right next to the main train station. Our bathroom had someone elses hair in it only a little but still not nice. Besides that it was all clean. The staff weren't so friendly though, we had to carry our... More

We (me and 4 other elderlies) arrived at this hotel at around 10 pm, 23 November 2015, and it turned out the three rooms we had reserved earlier were on the fourth and fifth floor. The hotel has no lifts and we had to carry our heavy bagagge ourselves. Two young men were there at the reception but they were... More

We appreciated the location of SK Maha Nakhon in our transition of leaving Bangkok; an easy walk to pick up our train tickets, and to the main train station where we were heading south, The staff were very friendly and helpful; the rooms comfortable with no fuss. The only drawback was that we climbed 4 floors to our room, but... More

Stayed in this hotel for one night before going to the airport the next day. The staff were friendly and helped us to organise our taxi to the airport for 500B. The double room was spacious, clean and ours was quiet so we slept well on the comfy mattress. A positive stay and I would recommend for a short visit.... More

An ideal budget hotel for travellers. It is adjacent to exit no 4 of the MRT HuaLampong and the MRT connects with the airport link train at Petchburi / Makasan. The central rail station is directly opposite the hotel, across the main Rama IV road (or if you don't want to negotiate the traffic you can use the subway access... More

On arrival, check in was efficient and staff very helpful. Our room was rather dull but not a major problem as it was for one night stay and it was very cheap. The air con didn't work too well so we relied on the fan. The en suite shower area was rather dirty but had plenty of space. The bed... More

I stayed a this hotel for 2 nights. Check in was easy and they were very helpful. My room was on the 2nd floor and as noted previously, there is no lift. They offered to carry my bag up but it wasn't too heavy and I declined. Wifi password was also given on checkin. The room itself had a window... More

We arrived in Bangkok with no arrangements for accommodation. We visited a local tourist office who asked what our budget was - to which we gave a £20 limit. She offered this place for £24. We agreed. Its around 10 mins in a TukTuk or Taxi from Kaosan Rd (which is what we used as a base-hub). The room was... More

Greeting here is brief but courteous. Our room was fine but due to location opposite the station, very noisy (bring earplugs). Bed was comfy and toiletries provided. Usefully near the metro. The bathroom was a little basic and water really cold, sadly. Overall pretty good value but nothing special.

Staying in Silom

Neighborhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
