I was in Bangkok for just a very short two nights this time so I thought I would try to save a few bucks. I booked the junior suite thinking that this was the best room available. The clerk gave me a standard room with no window. Of course I went right down and suggested this was not acceptable. So... More

Very disgusting hotel, location is great but the hotel is not good, facilities are normal, but there was not enought hot water, the stream of water very weak. The hotel is quite clean, Chinese inspiration. But there was a very poor attention from staff, just one elevator where you have to wait for more than 10 minutes and when we arrived at... More

Would definitely stay again! Fantastic location, close to everything on Silom and Suriwongse (Jim Thompson, Pat Phong, Sala Daeng Metro stop, Lumpini Park, etc) Very friendly front desk staff, who fix you bkfst each morning in the lobby converted toa restaurant.

A few years ago the Suriwongse Hotel was a total dive, dirty, badly in need of renovation, and most of the people who stayed there are not the sort of people you would like to mix with. But it has changed management and has been renovated, cleaned up, with a new front office and now represents about the best value... More

The Suriwongse (don`t pronounce the `s`) hotel has been around for yonks, and I have stayed there often. It has all the basics and is reasonably cheap for its standard. But you must book a superior room, or the Suite...otherwise you will find yourself in a windowless dungeon. My only complaint is that the walls look grimy and need a... More

The Suriwongse Hotel is one of the oldest gay hotels in the red light district of Patpong, Bangkok. Its room rates are mid-priced and value for money is average. Much of the hotel has been refurbished and/or renovated during the past 4 years or so, and the result is a much more comfortable set of rooms and corridors. The 4th... More

A well situated gay area so ideal for this. Rooms not so big unless you book the 'Suite'. Has a lift. Basic comfort, no thrills service, average food but has all night cafe on ground floor. Near night club so could be very noisy. No swimming pool Rather difficult to find as is behind a building rather than on main... More

Booked a suite room that was the top price room for this hotel, arrived to what looked like a bit of a run down reception. Entered the room and it was like something from the 70's. The carpet was grey and dull, wood panelling everywhere, a plastic sofa, a massive window that you can see through from the living/sleeping area... More

There are much better options for hotels in the Silom area of Bangkok for the same price or slightly more. This hotel is only interested in getting your money upfront and there is zero concern for the guest. The rooms are nothing special for the price paid and have no internet access. They even charge 60 baht to use a... More

Staying in Silom

Neighborhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
