I only booked one night here and my arrival seemed to take the staff by surprise. However we were able to get into the room one hour early. We were so tired after our overnight flight I failed to notice the lack of a toilet until the staff had gone. As it was only one night we decided we could... More

We stayed one night at Baan Boran. The rooms have AC, the bed was clean, but other than that it was not outstanding. It was hard to communicate with the young girls that help out at the hotel (they don't speak English).

The room was enormous and clean. The private bathroom had shower/toilet and the shower had hot water from the pipes. Great water pressure and water as hot as you want it. We arrived around 1am and had to ring the bell repeatedly/have someone call before anyone came out. The girls there don't speak English so it's hard to communicate with... More

The staff are very welcoming - we received free drinks and fruit on arrival. The rooms are large but a little run down. I've also never stayed somewhere where the shower is directly next to the TV! We got bitten quite a few times due to finding several bugs in the room. However breakfast is very tasty and the place... More

This hotel is in a good position but slightly out of the bustle of the city. We walked everywhere to all of the sights (palace, temples etc) but it took a good hour. The rooms are very clean, sheets & towels changed daily. The staff are extremely friendly, every time we returned from a day of sightseeing they greeted us... More

My boyfriend and I stayed three nights at Baan Booran and enjoyed the accommodations. The staff were very helpful and sweet. Our room was tidied daily (even folding our clothes and neatly zipping up our bags) and the free breakfast was enjoyable ( you have your pick of the Thai or western daily special. Definitely not a five star resort... More

The simplistic review: Mediocreto- Good guesthouse not in the center of Old Town, nor the center of Khao San road, but off the map a little bit. It is a close 10 minute walk to Khao San, but you will need to take Taxi-meters or tuk tuks to get to the main sites such as Wat Pho, Wat Arun, etc...... More

Stayed here in July 2013 for numerous nights. The hotel is very clean, the staff are incredibly nice and respectful, the hotel is very safe, the food at the Kaffee House is great and the rates are very reasonable. The rooms are well kept and they come with either a queen bed or twin beds, a bathroom, a cabinet for... More

We are started our trip to Thailand in this guest house and it was much more than we expected. The price was very reasonable considering the location and standard of accommodation. But what topped it off was the service. Whenever we returned to the guest house during the day, we were met by the staff and offered either a chilled... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 2 nights and it was very pleasant, our room was clean and tidy, aircon worked and the staff were extremely helpful with booking taxis and translating for us... We would differently stay here again! Family friendly as well if your traveling with kids! 10 min walk to KOH SAN!!!!

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
