The baan tepa, a very pleasant but basic type of hotel. Rooms are very clean but on the small side. Our shower room was in need of a fresh coat of paint. The building structure was interesting and very old. Theo the host is a very friendly and sociable person and he will advise you as much as he can.. Theo... More

I visited Baan Tepa with friends for 2 nights , a very old wooden house , situated in the Dusit area of Bangkok. It was the most genuine experience of the local thai culture. Theo is an awesome host, he is very friendly ,cooperative and a great tourist guide too. The courtyard is like a community centre-. where you can... More

Stayed here this past weekend. Spent more time than we had planned in the house, as we were hemmed in by the protests. It is located right beside the government buildings. Aside from that the house itself is lovely, very traditional Thai. Our room was not much bigger than the bed, but was fine for what we wanted. The toilet... More

A really nice old wooden house from the 1920s or 30s situated down a quiet soi in the Dusit area of the city. Very friendly and helpful guy runs the place. Was easy for the taxi driver from the airport to find. A central courtyard for eating and reading, no shoes indoors, spotless polished wooden floors, bedrooms are large and... More

Theo is the best host ever through all my trip! I've been to Bangkok before, but only this time I feel at home and Theo is like one of our family member. He is so considerate n helpful, even my picky parents were touched by his warmth! With his help, we feel safe and worry free all the time. Baan... More

Baan Tepa is situated north of the Banglampoo area, very local and urban fringe feel to the neighborhood. Not a lot of tourism appeal, save for the Ananta Samakhom throne plaza north and east of the hotel. Rooms are charming, the one i stayed in had a really narrow bathroom outside but great atmosphere nontheless. The lush greenery around helps... More

Very friendly owner, cosy small hotel in a perfect location to explore Bangkok. We had a room with bathroom and huge bed. All was basic but very comfortable. Owner is very friendly and helpful - he gave us some good tips and recommended nice places to visit! The hotel is a bit away from all the touristy bits but it... More

This is a lovely little place. Cosy and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable. Quiet area. Breakfast is a different Thai breakfast each day and is absolutely delicious! Very friendly staff. Some rooms have private bathrooms which are separate from the room which is not a problem as they are only across the hallway. Everything is very clean. The location is a... More

Although the rooms were not exactly amazing, it was the excellent service and serene atmosphere that earned the stars for us. Theo was very friendly, and always willing to help. He waited up until 2am for us on our arrival day and gave us lots of useful travel tips and information over the next couple of days. The rooms had... More

Friendly and helpful staff, close proximity to the river ferry and quiet location made this a good choice for a couple of nights in Bangkok. The room we had was simple, but clean and although perhaps not everyone's cup of tea I liked the quirkiness of the toilet/shower room being outside the bedroom on a balcony area. I should add...
