Rude staff who told several people in our group off for being bad customers because we only had one drink and paid with big bills. We had just arrived in Thailand and needed to make change. Terrible customer service.

We stayed at the sakul house for 1 night before we flew home, fantastic hotel right by Khao San road, lovely clean rooms, lovely staff was perfect. They have a shower room to get changed in before you head to airport. We will most definitely stay here again, thank you.

Last minute decision to stay in bangkok for 3 nights and sakul house was exactly what we wanted. The room was small but had everything you need, good a/c and good hot shower. Step right out your front door to the busy street or walk just down the alleyway next to it and it takes you to khaosan road. When... More

I didn't stay at their hotel, but I stopped for lunch at their restaurant. The food was okay, but I didn't get what I ordered ...although I didn't bother to say anything, and it was a bit pricey. Better choices around the area!

hotel was ok, by any means not luxurious, but location was good. we made sure to get a room in the back, so we wouldn't be disturbed by the noise (as it was advised on trip advisor). It's worth the upgrade for sure. Felt the hotel was a bit more expensive for what we got, but I guess you pay... More

The hotel, located just behind the Khao san Road (easily accessed by a nearby alleyway) is clean and modern, appearing to have recent renovation work done. There is a safety box in the room and a security guard on duty at night in the reception giving a level of security that isn't present in many of the other hotels in... More

Spartan, but clean and functional. Good to everything you may want, shopping, river trips, palace, Wats, food and night time entertainment, whether watching the crowds, or night clubs. Staff OK, little English.

We stayed here last December and enjoyed it. The room is so clean and spacious. The towels were designed in elephant style. When we went out you can see a lot of food and shops. I enjoyed the street food. I loved phad thai. I enjoyed the night life along the street 😀

This place is basically on old school guest house with a face lift. If you must or for some unimaginable reason stay in the area there are probably much worse places. For over all value though I would say way over priced. The rooms look alright, every works, but its still a noisy cramped place, forget about the balconies unless... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
