So close to the Khao San entertainment areas; but still somewhat far because of the river that runs between Praya Palazzo Hotel and Khao San. But not to worry, the hotel shuttle boat will bring you back and forth in five minutes, at any time of the day and night. With only 17 rooms and some suites, there is a... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of experiencing this 'diamond in the rough' so to speak. The hotel is accessible by water transport/ferry. The Praya Arthit Pier N13 is where you board the hotel's transport, which is very efficient, and the handlers were pleasant and polite. Checking in was a breeze...Thank you 'Gunn'. The room we had was clean... More

As I was not impressed by the traffic and pollution of downtown Bangkok I was glad I had chosen this hotel, being nearer to the palaces and temples but only accessible by a ferry operated by the hotel across the river. The ferry connects to a public pier from which you can catch other public ferries along the river or... More

I have stayed two nights and three days at Praya Palazzo in April of 2015. I was impressed with every aspect of the hotel's operations. The room decorations, staff, as well as food and customer service ... all was excellent. Hotel employees were very helpful and knew me by my name. The only access to the hotel is by a... More

We found a peaceful, restored palazzo just a 5-minute, delightful ferry ride from convenient public ferry dock. Lots to discover within walking distance, but taxis are available and cheap. Plenty of streets to explore on foot. It's a totally different world from modern downtown Bangkok where we spent our first two nights. The Praya Palazzo hotel staff was very accommodating.... More

This really is a lovely old building, the reception staff were great and the boat back and forward across the river is fast and efficient. What wasn't so good was the ridiculous price of beers...190 baht compared to 30 everywhere else...why? Also had to go looking for a waiter to serve us every time we wanted a vastly overpriced beer.... More

Bangkok is a mad place - in a nice way - crowded with people, tightly crammed buildings and traffic, so it was great at the end of the day to retreat over the river to this quiet little hotel in a restored colonial-style mansion. The hotel is completely inaccessible by road but provides a private boat that picks up from... More

Staff was extremely helpful in booking transportation for our group of 7. Very kind and friendly. Great food. Located on the river and you use a barge type boat that will take to a pier in the city. This barge is on your call they give you a cell phone when you check in, and when you want to return... More

Praya Palazzo is a restored colonial mansion, it is situated right on the river bank and really leaves you wondering if you are actually in Bangkok. If someone is on business or has scheduled appointments I would not recommend this property. However if someone is on a break or a holiday, then it is a fantastic place to stay. The... More

I enjoyed the stay - but you'd need approach this hotel in the right frame of mind to have a good time. I guess if a large branded hotel business had restored this old river-front house then it would be like Marriott/Starwood/Hilton inside a classic-looking shell .... but this was a private restoration and so it's more like semi-restored Italian...
