Facing the Chao Praya River. Room is relaxing, comfortable, even not "luxury". Food served at the hotel restaurant is not so bad. Staff is welcoming and friendly. The Thammasat Univ., major Buddhist temples , Tourism Info. Center and the Khao San Street are all within walking distance. Over all value for money is very high. We stayed 3 nights, BTW.

The rooms are clean, good-size, and basic, which I like. Good bathrooms and hot water, always! I stayed on the road side on the 6th floor, and it was very quiet. The staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be with minimal English. One of the staff, Nani, was very friendly and helpful! Very nice man. All of... More

Friendly staff greet you night or day. Always helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Most important the hotel is quiet day and night. No nearby barking dogs or roosters waking up. Even the noise from the family across the hall with two screaming toddlers never bothered my late morning sleep in from the after midnight flight arrival. The... More

We have stayed at the New Siam Riverside for the past four years upon arrival to and departure from Bangkok, so it is a very familiar, comfortable, and pleasant way to begin and end our adventures. The hotel prices have remained stable over the years, the service and accomodation have remained consistently very good, the included breakfast buffet is always... More

Great spot for our vacation. Everything we needed plus helpful staff, easy river taxi access, luggage storage, poolside restaurant...all for less than $50 per night. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Staff helped me arrange a last minute tour (at 5 am for 6:30 am pick up). Stored our luggage for 15 bhat per piece per day. This hotel is perfect... More

I liked staying at New Siam Riverside Guest House. Simple rooms but clean, good pool, breakfast overseeing the river and reasonably priced. Nice little cafe's and restaurants walking distance and even a healthfood supermarket around the corner.

The New Siam Riverside Hotel is located in Thanon Pra Athid, close to the Kao San Area but also close enough to Sanam Luang and the National Museum. The rooms are good; large enough, air-conditioned and reasonably priced (room rates start at about 40 Euros). There is also a pool. Breakfast and WLAN are included in the rates. This is neither... More

Nice good sized clean rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The view of the Chao Phraya from the outdoor dining area and swimming pool was awesome. Close to Khao San Road, nice boardwalk access for ferry rides. We would have stayed in a better quality hotel but the locality was the big attraction here.

If you like the bustling kao san/ rambuttri scene, afordable but excellent food, massage, drinks etc. and love the watertaxi to e.g. the royal palace and what pho with a pleasant swimmng pool and a relatively quiet location at the river., You can Seriously consider to book it if the price is right. We have stayed here 4 times now... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
