We booked this place because it was close to Khao San Road and cheap. Although the price is obviously a huge draw, you don't really even get what you pay for. Our room was spacious and quiet, but we could only use half the bed because they didn't have a big enough not of wood to put under the mattress... More

What an interesting place. A fair way from the beaten track this place stood out to me because of its name. If I was to take a guess then I reckon half of the guests have actually overstayed their visas already. The young back packer working the bar also had no work permit. Dope (highly illegal) is on offer and... More

Same as the previous message : Lawrence, who's now name Calvin is a professional Con-man (although not a very good one) and he is pissed off because after staying for 4 days for free, borrowing money from the staff and the customers i told him to leave. He is now on a quest to destroy the evil people that ask... More

One Word: Crappy! The owner is unfriendly and arrogant! The room is a dump! They do not provide towels and there are roaches in the room! The room smells and personally I would not recommend anyone to stay here!

Waaooo, You are one sneaky bugger ! Very courageous one as well , hiding behind a computer screen to get your "revenge" So it is George or lawrence or what ever your real name is ? Little context for the interested reader : Georges is a professional CON MAN , who goes to hostel tell people he got robbed and... More

Had a fantastic stay here, booked two days and ended up staying way longer, found everyone very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are what you expect for the price and the dorms having air con is a major bonus. The constant stream of kittens is something which can bring a smile to everyones faces, a note to anyone planning on... More

Im baffled by the negative reviews, felt almost personally insulted by some of those comments having had such an ace time there myself (from February - June 2013). Pants down to the snobby types that dont dare to venture beyond the 5 star 'luxury' hotels an turn their noses up to what is essentially a diamond in the rough! There... More

Living just down the road in Pinklao, The Overstay is a favorite place to catch up with local expats for a beer or ten, or to catch a party (ranging from Rock to Jungle Drum & Bass). I'm no fan of the Khao San vibe, so its great to be able to hang out around likeminded travellers or expats, sharing... More

Firstly I'll add a caveat - I'm an experienced traveller having pitched up in all kinds of hostels, hotels, motels, guest houses + friend's sofas/floors in over 20+ countries. I am in no way 'fancy' about what I expect from a place to stay. However, this is literally the worst place I've stayed in for a number of reasons, which... More

Come Overstay with us in our six story converted shophouse, former brothel and now Bangkok Guesthouse, Art Space and live music venue located on the corner of Charan Sanit Wong 40 - just a short distance from Bangkok's famous backpacking precinct Khao San Road. We regularly invite musicians who wish to showcase their talents during our weekly jam sessions. Local and international resident DJs spin at our bi monthly club nights, while Bangkok's best underground and indie bands take centre stage at our monthly live music nights. Hungry? Come hang with our resident cooks in our kitchen and join in while we cook amazing vegetarian feasts from around the world, or relax by the bar with a beer and take out from our local Thai, Indian & Italian restaurants. Our culinary delights have included Brazilian Mucacas, Spanish salsa nights, humming to the taste of Israeli Hummus, slicing and dicing China.... The list goes on... Our walls are covered in street art from Thai and expat or travelling Farang (Thai for Foreigner) artists such as Matt Diamond Expressive, Mista Bows, Do Mung Tam, TMC, Alex Face, Yam, Sweden Kevin, Yu Sing and is constantly evolving making it a beautiful mix of your local pub and the silver factory of Andy Warhol.
