We spent 3 nights in the Bangkok Cha Da and we were not impressed at all with the state of the hotel. While the rooms are spacious, neat and clean the hotel is being sold as a 4 star hotel - I couldn't quite understand why. There is so much potential but the hotel is just so run down. Capitalise... Positives: comfy bed, rooftop pool was quiet and clean, selection at breakfast buffet, bath and shower, clean, free bottle of water each day, short walk from food and shops Negatives: pay for wifi, taxi service is expensive, no maps and unhelpful about getting one or helping us find somewhere with a map, we ordered room service (price included the service... Read some "precious" reviews on the cha da and was frankly going to change the location of our stay based on them. My wife and I recently stayed 3 nights without complaint or incident, we even missed breakfast the first 2 mornings due to the reviews only to find out on the 3rd and last morning breakfast was great! Cha... More

Internet use. Buyer beware.... They sell you tickets which you have to get "daily" and last 24hrs. What they do t tell you is that if you log on before your previous one has expired then you lose all remaining hours!! Worst case us that if you use wring ticket by mistake you could lose all hours!! Worst still, when... More

I really don't understand why this hotel recently has poor reviews. Me and my friend stopped in Thailand for 4 nights at this hotel before going to Australia and after reading previous reviews we were expecting basic facilities. I don't want to say it was perfect but for a 3 star rated hotel it was very good. On arrival we... More

Well....what did we expect booking into a non-graded hotel that had the makings of a Youth Hostel in Amsterdam and a Nevada tucker's Motel! Gosh! I can remember the damp on the wall in room 408 and a lingering horrid smell that I could not compare it to anything, the good thing is that we were always hung over or... More

Reception staff were awful on checking in, no note of reservation. Yet again I meet with surly staff at a hotel reception. The room was good and was clean, an extra bed was also made up. I would have preferred the sofa option to be able to admire the skyline though. No free WiFi available but 200 baht per day.... More

Stayed one night at cha da hotel, this was more than enough, the room was very basic, no tea or coffee facilities, the bathroom was very shabby and lots of mildew in the shower. Breakfast was ok. No free wifi, the best thing about the hotel was the driver Tom, he was a brilliant guide, very knowledgable, safe driver and... More

For the price, this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed. The rooms, even with some covered decorations, showed wear and tear of some-decade-ago hotel. Water also leaked from upstair room but the hotel staffs responded very slowly. When I moved to the new room, no staff showed up to assist in moving. Won't come back again. Definitely.
