My boyfriend and I didn't stay here long, just two night. Bathroom and rooms were clean, small and efficient. We didn't know you had to book a room with AC, make sure you check before booking whether you have AC or not, if it's a big deal. We had a hostel in Chiang Mai without AC and it was perfectly... Dear Ann T., Thanks for taking your time to review our guest house, and for giving tips to other travellers. We are happy that you liked our place, found it clean and efficient. And that you found our travel center helpful. When coming from Chiang Mai in January, you will definitely experience Bangkok as being warmer, especially at night. And... More

We stayed at New Road Guest House in January 2016 for 5 days. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and well priced. Very clean, both rooms and common area. Wifi slow but everywhere, even rooms! Locations is good. Only short walk to both the skytrain (10mins) and the river ferries (5mins). Can reach Patpong night market on... More

Located in Silom. New Road questhouse offers good accommodation for reasonable prices. The hotel is run with professional atitude and si mostly focused on young travelers. Staff speaks very good English, there is large counter where tours are sold by English native speakers. The whole property is well maintained. The cheapest room (basic) is tiny (just to fit bed) rather... More

We stayed here for 4 days, and really loved the place. You can walk to it from the SkyTrain (maybe 10-15 minutes), and it's close to the water if you want to go on tours. They have both private ensuite rooms and shared dorm rooms. There's breakfast (you have to pay), and a daily meeting where you can learn about... More

It was what we expected to be on the pictures we've seen. The staff was great and they also have a tourist information center inside the hostel. The wifi is working only in the lobby but don't expect a good signal of wifi in whole Thailand. The location was ok because at 300 m you can take the ferry to... More

This hostel is run by a Danish company, and seems to draw, at least while we stayed there about 80% Danish travelers. So if you don't speak Danish and are looking to make friends, it might be best to look elsewhere. Otherwise, the hostel is very good. It's clean, the wifi worked well, and there are two full time travel... More

We liked the location : skytrain , trainstation and boatstation is near by. The stuff is very helpful and its also a good place for people just arrived in Bangkok because there is a touristinformation in the house. The doubleroom without AC is tiny but clean. It's good for the inexpensive price and for Bangkok!

Stayed in the female dorm and every day the cleaning staff emptied the trash and swept the floor and cleaned the bathrooms and showers. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's down a little alley off of a busy street that can be easily taken if walking to sights Bangkok offers (I personally walked all around Bangkok and it was... More

Located in a site-street - so it is really quiet! There's a place outside to chill out and two computers are available to use. The next metro station and ferry port is a 10min walk away. It's also around 10 min to China Town. Don't stay there if you want to spend time in KhaoSan road. As it is quite... More

This guesthouse occupies a small corner-village, with two room buildings and one for short and long storage. Go Beyond also functions over there, in case you'd like more touristic information and to book some tours around SE Asia. I stayed in the mixed room, in the second building (the one with the bar). The stairs are kind of narrow, and... More

Staying in Silom

Neighborhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
