Air-con only allowed to switch on between 11pm-7am. Room SMELLY due to poor ventilation. Toilet always not clean. Many leftover in the toilet eg. towels, soaps, shampoo, shavers etc. Cleaner did not clear them away. Overall it is an unhygienic place to stay. Far below expectation. Not even worth the cheap price of NTD300/night. Very rude staff.

good: free wifi, nice balcony, cheap price, the location is convenient as it is like 2 minutes to the subway, the common area is spacious with every basic utensil and furniture you need, they even have a few sofas, a small kitchen and computer, which is good for people who like to make new friends/cook/surf the internet bad: the sound proof... I had stayed here by Sept 2008 when I visited Taiwan for 2nd time. The price is really cheap TW600/room per nite sleep 2ppl. The washroom is on the outside of the room. The room is small space. Soundproof is poor. Air conditioning operated in certain time. Cleanness is ok. Location near to MRT station. Not suitable for family. Suitable... More

This is a review of both the Meeting Place Hostel and the Taipei Hostel. Meeting Place was my first of two hostels that we stayed in Taiwan. We left this one to go to Taipei Hostel because it was 50 cheaper per dorm bed. Both have good and "bad". 1st good at Meeting Place- great hostel vibe. Lots of cool... More

I stayed in a very small single room for about five weeks so those staying in the dormitory part of the hostel may have slightly different experiences. This seems to be the most inexpensive hostel in Taipei. It has to be at least 40 years old too. Some of the bathrooms are in need of some repairs but they were... More

Taipei Hostel is not located on a main street, which can make it harder to find initially. The location does help to keep the street noise to a minimum. Private rooms here with free wifi are a bargain when compared to a hotel room in the same area. If booking a room or space using the shared bathroom, bringing your... More

I stayed here in January 2014. Initially it was VERY hard to find. If you take the airport bus to the Sheraton it's easy enough, but it's confusing because the hostel is in multiple buildings. The reception isn't on the ground floor, so it just seemed to be an apartment building once we went inside. It wasn't very clear where... More

We stayed in a double room with ensuite bathroom in November 2013. These are my comments: Pros: 1) Good Location: Just a 5-minute walk to Shandao Temple MRT Station, which is one station from Taipei Main Station. 2) Cheap 3) Staff was responsive during booking Cons: 1) Poor Cleanliness: The room was not clean. The bed sheet and sofa were... More

My girlfriend and I booked a double room for three nights, including New Years Eve, 7 weeks before our stay. Apparently that was too early, so we were asked to confirm within 4 weeks of arriving. When I emailed our confirmation more than 3 weeks before our stay, the reply was that the room was no longer available! They gave... More

Location pro: near to Shandao Temple MRT, one to two minute walk. Location cons: located in a quiet corner which is quite hard to find. The small alley is dark at night. A bit scary and dangerous for girls. Room pro: Considered as cheap in Taipei, we chose the private room with a private bathroom. WIfi is good in the... More
