Not sure why this hotel doesn't rank higher as we had great experience staying here for 2 nights during my bachelorette party this past March with 6 other friends that also booked the same hotel. The hotel was very well located - near SOGO department store on the red line so makes traveling to major sites very easily. The room... More

Stayed for 3 nights and was upgraded to room 906 which had a nice little garden balcony. The room is clean & spaceous... and then you go into the bathroom which is massive! The room has great wifi, a speed test put it at 50mbps download and upload was similar. This was important seeing as my trip was a working... More

My partner and I, young professional couple in our early 30s, stayed here for four nights in the middle of the week in early January for leisure. We secure a fairly good price so we decided to go for it, and it was a good stay. The hotel's location is great, just around the corner from a subway station with... More

I have to write a review because my son, oddly, likes this place, despite having been to "fancier" hotels. The hotel exterior and lobby, though clean, is clearly old. Even the choice of font for the hotel's name is odd. You'd probably have to find some kitschy font pack just to ID the hotel's font. Yet it's in a location... More

This hotel is around 5 minutes walk to Sogo Department Store. Which has a MRT station beneath it. There are a lot of restaurants, bakeries, convenience stores near it (almost 1 in every block). So you never have to worry about going hungry! The rooms are somewhat dated but kept real nice and clean. Their housekeeping department does an excellent... More

The Royal Palace Hotel is in the heart of Taipei. I visit Taipei about once a year, and rarely stay anywhere else. It is centrally located, near an MRT main line, and near not one, but two SOGO malls for shopping and dining (there is a Ding Tai Fung in the green SOGO, and both boast a variety of Taiwanese... I stayed there for 2 nights in early July, took an airport bus there and the stop was only a couple of minutes walk away. Very central location, room tidy and spacious. Free mini bar and fast wifi. The staff were very polite, most impressed me was when I went back to the hotel late at night the staff at... More

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from either of 2 MRT stations, Sogo (3 of them), and a wide variety of shops, boutiques and restaurants, so it's extremely convenient. If you can get breakfast included in the room rate, it's taken in the Japanese restaurant next to the lobby and there's a wide choice in the buffet ranging from cranberry... More

As an avid traveler to Taipei, I have stayed in numerous properties near the center of the city. Royal Palace is so popular that this was the first time I was able to book a room there. This hotel stands out in its convenient location and values. It's located in a part of Taipei that's known for good shopping and... More

The location of the hotel is very good, with a lot of shops and restaurants around. But it is a bit worn out. The toilet is clean and spacious, but the cutlery found in the room was really dirty. Staying there for two nights, we found the same dirty ones placed at the same place. The front desk receptionists are... More
