We really enjoyed staying at Dong Wu, both because of the hotel and the location in a normal Taipei neighbourhood (rather than the typical tourist zone). The hotel is simple, clean and well maintained. We chose a Deluxe Twin because all of the cheaper options were facing the street or were windowless. Our room was at the back, with ample... More

Taipei hotels tend to be expensive. Dong Wu is one of the best for its value, the hotel is clean, professional, near metro station and a lot of eateries. I stayed there for 2 nights. Of course it's no where near the fancy 4/5 star hotels but you feel safe and homely staying here. I'd stay again if heading back... More

Hotel is 8 minute walk to Daqiautou mrt station. Bed is medium hard, tv has plenty of station but mostly in Chinese, room is sizable for more than 2, breakfast has varieties and one lift serve 11 floors. It's a housing neighborhood around and no nearby attraction. The odd part is they charge additional child for full price breakfast! If... More

The Dong Wu Hotel is a quaint semi-modern smaller style hotel that would normally not be considered as a place to spend a week or two while you meander through Taipei since it resides in the Old part of the city. It is old because it is surrounded by history and smaller shops, tea warehouses, small restaurants and walking distance... More

We were overwhelmed with expensive choices in Taipei, and chose this hotel based on the remarkableTripadvisor reviews. Glad we did! This was an affordable option with a good included breakfast, and was close to the MRT. The staff was very friendly and helped us finding things around town. We were upgraded to a suite on the top floor which was... More

I booked this hotel after reading the reviews and the hotel exceeded my expectations. Even before our stay, I kept on emailing them asking for information and Joanne was very helpful and prompt in replying. We were allowed to check in right away even before the standard time of 3PM, with no hassle at all, and though we booked for... More

I booked this hotel after reading some of the reviews on this site. The first night I stayed at the hotel I thought I had regretted my choice as it seemed the room wasn't quite as clean as the previous hotel we stayed at (and the previous hotel as a lot cheaper). My Mum and I also saw about 3... More

Two weeks after my stay at the Dong Wu it is hard to even remember how my room looked like. In many ways the hotel is extremely bland but that's also its biggest quality. The Dong Wu is in fact extremely functional, clean and a more budget-friendly alternative than many of its peers. Location is good: near a night market... More

I booked this hotel for my first trip to Taipei. It's a gem tucked away on the otherwise busy street. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the basement is wonderful with some Taiwan delicacies. If you want a peaceful and inexpensive stay in Taipei, I strongly recommend this hotel.... More

The room is big and clean, although it's quit old and very traditional. One thing that you should remind is no elevator to hotel cafe which serve breakfast, you have to use stairs. Location is not far from MRT yellow line which take just 5 minute by walk and there is Family mart next door. In morning, you can enjoy... More
