I was in a conference at Taipei International Convention Centre for 4 days and stayed at San Want Hotel for 4 nights in November 2014. First and foremost in all things good is its location which is very central to everything. MRT station is just steps outside and the area is surrounded by shops, restuarants, department stores (including SOGO). Also... More

Have stayed here over 10 times in the past years...simply because of it's location and at those times fairly reasonable prices. The rooms are outdated to say the least, but from the standard rooms to the suites that have a lounge area, the decor remains simple, uncluttered and fairly clean with a hint of a musky smell lingering. The location... More

Here for a 4 day meeting so limited exposure to all the facilities. Hotels in Asia tend to be refurbished on a very regular basis and facilities generally put US and European to shame. I felt this hotel was way past the point where it needed to be refurbished. Room a bit run down and dull, power points not in... More

Found this hotel's location very useful. Rooms clean and everything worked inside. Staff very friendly and provided help whenever asked. Useful hotel taxi service to and from the airport. Great room rate. Overall I would use this place again.

Their rooms are very basic, and small. TV is the box-type, although channel options are good. Staff are helpful, and very friendly. English has never been a problem. Price-wise, very reasonable. Their breakfast selection is great: fresh fruit, congee, pastries, eggs. Coffee and tea acceptable. Location can't be beat: steps from the MRT blue line, bus lines to Taipei Main... More

The rooms are generous in size however a little aged. The staff were very friendly and professional. I would have liked to see a better hairdryer in the room, a personal hate is the small hairdryer attached to the wall.

The best part of this hotel was its location, within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the metro. The hotel itself was a little aged, though my room was more spacious than I had anticipated, with a love seat, easy chair and table. The airport pick-up service was totally worth it and cost about the same as a taxi. Staff... More

The hotel is very near a lot of shops, such as zara, mango, etc. Behind the hotel also has lots of restaurants and interesting small shops. It also has a very good bakery just beside the hotel, and the breakfast buffet is pretty good. The room however is very small, I even have trouble to put my 2 luggage. My... More

First time going to Taiwan and practically had no clue on what to expect. San Want hotel however delivers all my expectations. The hotel itself seems a bit old, but which part of Taiwan isn't? (Except the new developed area near the Taipei 101). I pay a bit extra to get my room upgraded to a larger size. Room is... More

Right in the heart of Zhong Xiao East Road, you could basically buy anything you need within walking distance and the MTR subway is right near the hotel's doorsteps. The rooms are clean, but during the summer, watch out for cockroaches... Two small ones somehow got into my bathroom on the 10th floor. Air conditioning could get very cold, but... More
