This hotel has the most perfect location! It's literally a couple steps away from the nearest MRT station! Even when it's raining, you don't really have to bring an umbrella because you could just run into the MRT station. Hotel is located in the center of a popular shopping district, with a lot of stores and restaurants nearby. The room... More

I was in Taipeh on a business trip and was recommended to use the San Want hotel as it is only some 300 meters from our office and prices are reasonable. The hotel itself is a little run down but has its very own romantic flair. Rooms are quiet, spaceous, and clean, with all amenities one needs for a short... More

Right next to MTR exit with lots of food and shopping options nearby. Room is a bit old but good value for money due to location. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Great place to stay for solo travellers as the hotel is located along main street which is always crowded hence felt safe.

The location is good with connections to every where from near by metro to taxi and all. Malls and shopping also close by. However the Hotel itself is not really up to the mark. One can handle interiors as far as we have a clean and fresh environment. We checked in to find the room very smelly and complained. They... More

Good location and very close to subway station. Bathroom and bedrooms are old, needs refurbishing. Although rooms are generally clean but not spotless. Staff are also helpful but nothing extraordinary. Nothing really special about this hotel. It's value for money since it's not expensive. Overall, just an average value for money hotel.

After at least 15 years staying in the San Want it definitely needs a brush up. The Internet is dead slow in the evenings when the hotel is full, the gym is a joke for a hotel of that size. The bathrooms are old fashioned, the shower only for dwarfs. Electrical sockets next to the bed for charging phones are... More

This place is in a very convenient location near so many shops and restaurants. Although it is on a busy street, but we had an inside room so it is quite. But the room is small. So we stay out most of the days except come back to sleep during the night. It is also convenient to the MRT (the... More

As other reviewers have highlighted, this hotel's location can't be beat. However, that is its only redeeming value. The hotel and rooms are very dated. The musty smell is overwhelming. The walls are paper-thin, and the small rooms are claustrophobic. For the price, there are definitely other options.

The Hotel has a great location.. department stores around the area, restaurants and even MRT stations. It's pretty convenient for tourist seeking for local adventures! The rooms are clean and the service is good.

Stayed here for 10 nights during our trip in Taiwan. Great location as it's close to many shops and restaurants. Subway station is practically right outside the front door. The staff is great and they were very courteous and helpful. Free water and free working wifi are the other perks. On the other hand, the hotel badly needs an renovation.... More
