I usually stay at the Royal Palace Hotel in Taipei, but chose the Ambassador Hotel due to its proximity to the nearby hospital (relative was in the hospital for a week). The lobby and restaurant are beautiful. The restaurant even has a koi pond garden with turtles, which is a relaxing view to enjoy with a meal. The rooms were... More

This is a very nice hotel, reasonably priced for Taipei. Unfortunately there is not much to see as far as attractions go, but very close to train station to get downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful but most did not understand/speak English very well. The breakfast chef was particularly helpful and worked very hard to improve his English. Also... More

Stayed for 4 nights with my family. Just as other reviewers pointed out, the lobby looked much better than the room. After checking in, the lock on the bathroom door turned out to be broken. As it was not a mandatory feature for us, we did not bother to change the room just for that. We found the way bathroom... More

I have stayed at that hotel a few times, using the executive floor the last time. Obviously the executive rooms are more expensive and therefore nicer then the regular rooms. Although nicely furnished, still small, especially the bath room area. You’ll get all sorts of amenities that you’d expect for the price you pay. The executive floor has a small... More

The lobby looks much better than the rooms. The room on the 12th floor was musty and old, the carpet old and not very clean. The breakfast was a big disappointment: no decent fruit choice, not many wester style options, Chinese food was not fresh... I picked the hotel since I thought, it is related to Ambassador hotel in Hsinchu.... More

I stayed at the executive floor and the refreshed rooms, although not big, were well appointed and nicely decorated. The location in Zhongshan is convenient (not too far from the MRT) and the service of the hotel is great. Overal the Ambassador is definitely a good value in Taipei.

The room we got was surprisingly good. The room did not feel cramped and the bathroom was superb. We had our own whirlpool in the room! Breakfast buffet was not worth it. Skip it and just eat oitside to experience local cuisine more. The gym was horrible! There was only a treadmill and bike. That's it. Thr hote is located... More
