I was staying in this nice onsen hotel for a conference. The quest room we had is superior room class. Of the 4 classes of guest room, the superior room class, IMH0, is the best for the money. It has a private custom marble onsen bathtub with a large window facing the Shamou Mountain. You can take the white sulfur... More

Public hot spring is very small and not well maintained. Towels and provisions are very limited. Room is very small when compare with Landis Wulai. Towels and bath robe is very poor quality. Bed quilt cover is broken. Room is run down. Very noisy due to poor insulation. Basically like a 3 star hotel if you compare with Landis Wulai.

I needed somewhere to recharge between two work weeks in Asia and this hotel was recommended by colleagues in Taiwan. The hotel is clean and spacious with a really nice, slightly minimalist feel. It may not really be 5 star, but it is pretty good value, given the prestige location so near Yangmingshen park. The hotel is very comfortable and... More

After spending two days in the centre of Taipei, we decided to take a few days in Yangmingshan. I agree with some other reviewers that the hotel is probably not a real 5 star: curtains and sofas have some stains, the carpet was a bit loose in the corners, but I really loved the hotel. Staff were friendly, the hotel... More

Location and the hot springs are very good. Rooms Japanese style and nice. But rooms are not maintained very well. Room was very very dusty, everything in room covered in dust. Breakfast is mediocre, really shameful. This is the type of breakfast Motels serve. Shame on Landis! Overall , only good for hot springs which are nice and clean. But... More

We stayed here for 1 night, and my in-laws (in their 70's) love the hot spring pools with sulphur. They claimed it helps their backpains a lot. The staff were good, and recommended a very good restaurant for us to enjoy the night scenery of YangMingShan (overseeing Taipei City). We had the standard rooms, and good for 2 adults (for... More

Located in Yangmingshan National Park which is a short drive from the city centre, this is an ideal resort for a weekend getaway from the city. Cosy rooms with tatami, tea set and interesting disposable slippers you need to figure out how to use! Spacious common hot spring areas area can be filled with locals who are club members. Meeting... The staffs we encountered were not smart nor experienced, they looked like college student doing summer job. But we LOVE the room design, the tatami, the hot spring tub, the kettle set, the lighting, just splendid! The breakfast was quite good, but again, the staffs were kinda aloof. The pool was closed due to maintenance when we were there. In... More

Wonderful experience. Great escape from the metropolis of Taipei. A short half hour by cab from the heart of the city. Extremely helpful staff, they couldn't do more to help. They even located a bar for us playing the Lions v Australia rugby game for my husband. Great base for hiking. Lovely pool and hot springs.

I only stayed a night here (unfortunately) but really enjoyed it. Not particularly prepossessing upon first acquaintance its raison d'être soon becomes apparent – hot springs… In the basement are two well-appointed hot spring rooms, one large with huge steaming baths; the other more intimate and with views over pleasant Zen-style garden features. The rooms are swapped every day between... More
