We booked a one night stay at the hotel, didn't expect much, just because the kids like ryokan style tatami hotel. We got caught by one of the worst typhoon: Typhoon Soudelor... The electricity went out around midnight, backup generator didn't work until next morning around 10am and the fire alarm went off someone around 6am. I was personally moved... More

Two families with young kids and 1 grandma stayed here in early July 2015 and everyone had a glorious time. Upon arrival, kimono'ed staff welcome you and take your baggage up to your room. In your room, you're treated to a demonstration on how to change into Japanese-style robes and shoes, and given tea and sweets. We enjoyed a Japanese... More

This is a traditional Japanese ryokan located in Peitou, the traditional hot spring district in Taipei. We feel like we had traveled to Japan the minute we stepped into this place. Partly owned and managed by a Japanese hotel group, every bit of detail is identical to what you may experience over there. The only difference is the service staff... More

Travelled with my family on a one day get away. The hotel situated perfectly close to New Beitou station and they also offer free pickup from the Beitou station, which was really convenient. It is related to Kagaya in Japan, which is one of the well known hotspring hotels which has won numerous awards for services. On Location, it is... More

We stayed there for 2 nights and my comments are 1. The room had a very unpleasant smell which faded off only after the first night. 2. Bed mattress was very hard and pillows were small and uncomfortable. 3. The room was stuffy and air- conditioning seemed not functioning well. 4. You need to wear a shower cap while having... More

Transportation Located in the suburbs of Taipei city, the only direct transportation from Tao Yuan Airport is by taxi or private car. The taxi charge was around TWD1,200 which was quite reasonable. Otherwise, you have to switch from coaches and mass transit railway. For sight-seeing, local attractions are within walking distance and the MRT is just around five minutes walk.... More

second time to stay at kagaya. can't believe it is maintained so well, not only hardware, but also software. rooms are cozy; meals are unforgettably delicious; the staff are gentle and soft. yes, it costs a lot, but worthy of my money. would suggest visitors get a chance to enjoy there.

This hotel also offers hotspring day trips with high tea. Tried it and must say hotel could improve in some areas considering it charges rather premium vs other hotspring hotels. 1) collecting payment at the start comes across not classy 2) hot tubs have a very rough rock surface painful to sit on 3) toiletries were not replenished for each... We stayed here for one night with my wife and our 1.5 year old, in the quest of searching fir the BEST hot springs hotel in Taipei. This was probably the 3rd best behind Grandview and Villa 32. Don't get me wrong, this place is authentic with full Japanese decor and tatami style rooms, they give you their traditional robe... More

We stayed 3 nights in Radium Kagaya for a Beitou experience whilst our Taiwanese trip. The hotel is located at the lower part of Beitou, closer to the convenient stores and some small restaurants (and maybe public transportation if you're up for a 5-10 min walk) than ones at the higher up the mountain. The check-in took a long time... More
