The Eight Elephants/Dreaming dragon is the perfect first stop for anyone coming to Taipei. It is located in a great area, and close to the MRT so that you can explore the city. The place is both clean and safe. What really makes it however, is the incredible nice service. The employees will help you find the tourist attractions, but... More

Of all the hostels I have stayed at, this was the best. The staff cultivated a friendly, supportive and clean community environment. It is also in a great location--really helpful in orienting newcomers to Taipei. The spaces were well managed and the prices were more than fair. I would highly recommend this hostel whether you are a student or tourist.

I stayed here for two nights and would definitely recommend it. The common area is really cozy and welcoming and the staff is both helpful and friendly. The air conditioning downstairs (dormitory and sitting room) is great but upstairs (showers and kitchen) lacks air conditioning, which was uncomfortable in mid-august. The hostel is in a prime location, about 2 mins... More

Clean rooms but with a very hot corridor. I wouldn't wanna stay stay in the dormitory though anything but the rooms were hot and a bit to cramp. I think it is a bit overpriced compared to other hostels. We stayed att 1828 City hut in Tainan, that's how it should be! The staff were very friendly and spoke a... More

If you're a social traveler, you'll love this hostel. The staff give you a thorough tour and make sure to introduce you to the people hanging out in the common area and in your room, which is something I've never experienced before. It's a great way to start things off. The staff also feel like roommates, as they're so approachable... More

I haven't stayed at many hostels, but this is one of the nicest places I have stayed. I couldn't stop swooning over it as soon as I arrived. The staff are friendly and approachable and the common area downstairs is great for socialising. It is a great location, hidden in the back alleys but only a short walk from Guting... More

This is my second time to stay in Eight Elephants Hostel. This place makes me feel comfortable and the staffs are friendly. There are single room and 6 to 7 bed dorm within. If you don't have any experience of living in hostel, you can try to live in single room. On the other hand, there is a public area.... More

The accommodations are suitable for every price range--affordable dorm-style bunks to lovely single-room seclusion. It's clean, there are washers, dryers, a kitchen to use, and the location is great. I could talk about its convenience or how anything the traveler needs is either right on site or within easy reach. But what really takes the cake for Eight Elephants is... More
