You travel outside the city of Pokhara and up into the surrounding hills to get to this lovely property, which is situated high up to give outstanding views of the surrounding countryside and the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. While it was overcast the entire few days we were at the hotel, we hear the view of the mountains is... More

Dear HarvDeanna, Many thanks for your great review - we all much appreciate it when our guests make time out of their busy lives, not only to visit Nepal and Tiger Mountain, but to provide insightful reviews too. Res assured now the pool is warm and ideal for lazy swims or paddling. It will remain so through until the end... More

Firstly, my apologies, as my review comes in very late. We travelled as a family of 5 and had planned a one-night stay at Tiger Mountain in late March. The moment we stepped into the lodge, its location took our breath away. Looking down at the valley below and the clouds in the distance, my family was instantly taken with... More

Dear Shashank B, Many thanks for your great review in which you highlight the great base the lodge makes for keen birdwatchers - amateur and expert alike. Our guides, led by Jhalak, Hari P, Hari B and Sajan are all good spotters and identifiers of the rich bird diversity in the immediate vicinity of the lodge and throughout the Pokhara... More

Marcus, I said that and more in your guest book. It's very difficult to put into words what an absolutely spectacular place to spend a few days. Would have preferred the six. Wonderful welcome from all. Tea with home baking on arrival is a very good start. Pampering at best. Nothing was any bother. We didn't feel as though staying... More

Dear momoN4738LR, I write this in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal today. Thank you for your praise - I too have only the highest praise for the whole team at the lodge. We had practiced drills for such an eventuality and they were executed faultlessly by the entire team. One might say Tiger Mountain was Shaken,... More

While visiting this wonderful lodge with it's secluded, private chalet, stunning views and peace and quiet I was out for a walk, slipped and fell and tore a muscle in my leg. The LandRover came to fetch me, the Kitchen staff provided me with a constant supply of carefully wrapped ice packs and Marcus a goodly supply of Ibuprofen. Of... More

Dear James O, Alas things can go wrong in the best regulated circumstances - and I am glad we were able to supply you with the ice-packs and medicine to ease your leg. A major European tour operator boss once told me that he liked to see a property under pressure due to problems / failings or whatever as it... More

We stayed here for 2 nights after two great days hiking. Our welcome was lukewarm and the manager very smiley but hesitant. Our rooms were nice but there was noise all around and horrid smoke fires from the neighbours behind. We were very tired and sore when we arrived and we were looking forward to the yoga and massages at... More

Dear Susanne H, I am sorry you found the lodge not up to expectations, due to external issues beyond our control. I would note the following: 1. The smoke was from a neighbour burning leaves to make fertiliser for his land - outside our boundary and beyond our control. There are no restrictions on such activities in Nepal that occur... More

This was a beautifully positioned property which exceeded all our expectations. The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The views of the mountains were breath-taking and the sunrise over Fishtail Mt will live with me forever. If the early morning was clear,we were wakened with tea and... More

Dear 441Val, Thank you for your lovely review. I a so glad we exceeded your expectations - this is always our objective. The staff are wonderfully kind and thoughtful - we avoid the mechanical and process driven ways in favour of genuine compassion and concern for each of our guests. Our small scale helps us achieve this. The walks are... More

Visitors to Tiger Mountain Lodge are rewarded with outstanding views of the Annapurna range which alone makes any visit to the Lodge worthwhile and if Macchapucharre happens to be hiding behind a veil of cloud then just relax with a cup of lemongrass tea and cake (or something stronger) and take in the valley until the mountain shows itself again.... I have been pondering how to make this review useful to other travellers but my views are so coloured by what I considered to be the most wonderful experience of staying here that this review will be blinded by subjectivity. We stayed at Tiger Mountain Lodge for 4 nights and cannot recommend a stay here highly enough. The self contained lodges are comfortable and offer spectacular views of the Annapurnas.
