This is an excellent guesthouse! The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, the prices are reasonable, it is always perfectly clean and the garden is a lovingly maintained oasis of calm (with 24hour free wifi). It can be a challenge to drag yourself out to see the rest of pokhara... It's also a great choice for would-be/ soon-to-be trekkers as... More

I would really love to give five stars as the room was clean, light, and good quality, with hot shower and lights even during power cuts, the garden is pleasant, shady and pretty, and the staff was nice. But there is a construction site right next door, plus the road is prepared to be paved over, so lots of noise... More

This guest house is made nice by two things specifically - the manager Ram who is friendly and can hold great conversation, and secondly the delightful garden area outside where you can relax and use the WiFi. Only con was the room smelt of damp, but other than that would very much recommend this place.

Stayed there in total for more than one week. Loved the place and their garden. Staff is very helpful and friendly and Krishna does a good job as being Gauri's Chef cook. Place is located just before the busy main street so it's in a rather quiet part. Going there again for my pokhara stay would be a no brainer!

Could really find a decent place to hang out until we found Gauri shankar. Even if you're not staying there go for breakfast and meet the wonderful staff and owners.... Just a great place to spend time before or after a trek..... ray

We stayed at the guest house for a week after trekking the Annapurna circuit. The manager Ram was extremely helpful and friendly. He was happy to chat to us about activities but never tried to push anything on us. The garden is beautiful and the breakfasts also great. The staff were extremely helpful and caring when my friend was unwell... More

The owner here is helpful and doesn't try to push any extras on you - so a breath of fresh air. The garden is a great place to sit and relax with drinks available. There's good wifi if you're close to the source (so not in every room). My room was bright and clean although the bathroom could have used... More

Very friendly manager and staff. The colorful beautiful shady garden is a perfect hangout place and a great place to meet other travelers. Rooms are clean and the shower is hot. Manager Ram has been a guide for many years and has all advice that can be needed about trecking in the area. The hostels is just of the main... More

A wonderful place just off fhe main drag, the gauri shankar was the reason pokhara will have such fond memories for me. Ram, krishna and judy run a fantastic show, with great breakfast, wonderful and honest advice and a real commitment to their guests. Generous with their time, company and musical instruments, they provide all the atmosphere needed for a... More

Ram was super friendly and not pushy, which is why I stayed here one night in arriving. For the price I paid it was ok. I got what I assume was the cheapest and gloomiest room with Inside bathroom where light had blown, not well ventilated so everything in the room felt very wet. Was basic and good size but... More
