Great place on a tiny side street just a touch away from the hubbub of Thamel. The garden/cafe was a little gem of an oasis. Their Nepali tea was to die for. The complimentary airport pick up was much appreciated as was the filtered drinking water in the lobby. The shower was almost unbearably hot, a novelty in this country.... More

4 of us booked for 2 nights and stayed for 7 because of the friendly staff the great food and the great location. The rooms were clean comfortable and affordable and the balconies on each floor were nice for relaxing in the sun or you can sit in their beautiful private garden. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Near to Thamil but at a quiet place. Stayed here before & after I went to Pokhala, therefore stayed both 2nd floor and also higher one. Higher one is undoubtedly better choice, more quiet and good view. Breakfast here was quite tasty.

Most hotels whether budget midrange or luxury are usually obtrusive pretentious and arrogant from the second you walk in the door. The Ganesh Himal is on the other hand extremely welcoming, the owners (Mukiya, Maya and auntie Rinku) are unassuming and friendly and have the ability to make you feel part of their family. Rooms are clean and presentable from... More

The guesthouse is like 15 minutes' walk from Durbar square. The location is quite OK! We reserved a car through the reception. On the day we need use the car, we were told car rental needs increase by 30% because it's their festival day. After negotiation, they maintain the original price. But the total experience is bad

Excellent location, warm staff, comfortable and clean rooms..best choice in Kathmandu! I spent 6 nights in the hotel last September and could stay longer. Complimentary bottle of water is avaiable in the room and very good food!

I spent 3 nights in this hotel in Sep 2014. The hotel is ideally located close (walking distance) to the center of Thamel and at the same time far enough to avoid most of the noise. What I liked the most about the hotel is the nice garden (candle lit at night) where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner... More

It's an oasis inside Kathmandu. It's two streets away Thamel, this means walking distance 5 minutes but absulte silence. My room faced a beatiful garden where you could have a tea and rest and stop hearing horns from the street for a while. Stuff was very helpful and nice. Rooms are old but very clean and perfectly correct. Reception is... More

We like staying at this hotel. The staff were helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated. We had hot water and air conditioning. There was a kettle to boil water. We had a veranda. The breakfast was fine. My only comments for improvement are the coffee and choices of other meats for the sausages and bacon. They only had pork. The... More

Excellent hotel in Thamel. We stayed for a whole week there. They have different rooms to choose from. The higher the floor, the less you hear the road notices. The hotels's Nepali tea was delicious. The best of the whole neighborhood.
