My girlfriend and I spent 7 nights in Hotel Ganesh and loved every minute of it. The staff are all amazing and extremely hospitable - when it was raining they offered us an umbrella, when we had no means of opening our wine, they ran out and bought a wine opener w/o hesitation or before we had a chance to... I stayed at Hotel Ganesh Himal with my family in March 2015. The service was fantastic and the staff were very helpful when we wanted advice of how or where to go while visiting Kathmandu. The rooms were very comfortable and the food was also great. The location was perfect, tucked away in a street from the bustling Thamel and... More

from the pick up time to returning back to the air port I felt very safe and looked after. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I am a solo traveler and had a wonderful time at Hotel Ganesh Himal. I loved the balconies on the upper floors, had lunch and dinner there at times and retreated there, when I... More

We arrived at the Hotel Ganesh Himal 24 hours before the devastating earthquake brought such chaos, calamity and death to the country of the most generous and caring people in the world. Despite the horrendous hardships facing the staff and their families at the hotel, they stayed by our sides, helped us in every way they could supplied us with... More

We've stayed here on two separate trips to Nepal, staying each time both before and after a trek. It's an oasis of calm in chaotic Kathmandu. We had comfortable rooms both times, and only small niggles sometimes with a lamp that didn't work, or awkward wall plugs. But always hot water, which is really nice. Lovely to kick back in... More

The room we had was basic, clean and reasonably comfortable. There is noise pretty much everywhere, no matter the hotel, unless you are in 5 star accommodations with good sound-proofing, so travel with earplugs if it's an issue for you. The female staff were very efficient and friendly. They even printed out our plane tickets for no charge which I... More

This is a nice friendly place, the staff were extremely helpful and nice. The hotel itself is good, rooms were basic but clean and there is always hot water and electricity. It also has a really nice garden out the back and good views of Swyambhunath from the roof terrace. Location is a little tucked away, which is advantageous as... More

We only stayed here for a night but the hotel was well situated. It is good and clean. Didn't have an elevator if that is important to anyone ( we didn't mind). The garden cafe was good as was the breakfast. Overall a good choice and value for money.

First, let me just say that what you think of this hotel is going to largely depend on what room you book. We had booked a deluxe room ahead of time. We were rather unceremoniously dumped into a standard room when we arrived after being told at the last minute that they had already sold our room. The first room... More

We stayed here on four occasions in March, 2015. The hotel is perfectly located between the restaurants and shopping of Thamel, and the sights of Durbar Sq. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with a great courtyard garden and large balconies on all floors of the main building. The staff were all delightful, helpful and so polite! The food and service...
