After trying a number of hotels in Kathmandu I finally found Hotel Ganesh Himal! It was much cheaper and had more amenities and nicer rooms than others! I had a standard room which was nice and peeked into deluxe which for $10 more looked spacious and much nicer. Great quiet location in Thamel. Beautiful lobbies, garden, rooftop, various public deck... More

Over the course of a month I stayed at several hotels in Nepal, Hotel Ganesh Himal being best one I stayed at! It is within walking distance of amazing market-like shops, cafes, resturants and is within walking distance to the beautifu Kathmandu Durbar Square. It has the best Nepali tea (also known as milk tea ) I have ever tried!... More

Nice place, clean, friendly staff, good price but a little off the beaten path. This place has rooms of all kinds from cheap to mid priced. I stayed here on two different occasions and saw 3 rooms, they were all consistent and clean. There is also a nice garden dining area.

We stayed here six nights while working in Kathmandu. There are many good things about it - the staff are fantastic, the beds very comfortable, the rooms tasteful, the restaurant decent, filtered coffee in the morning, decent wifi, a generator to get through all the KTM power outages, very nice garden with little fires each evening and candles, nice sitting... Stayed here for 5 nights while in Kathmandu and really enjoyed it. I booked a deluxe room and it was very clean and tidy with comfortable beds. Also 24hr hot water in the showers is a blessing after traveling for so long, the wifi is good and the electricity only cut twice while I was there but not for long... More

Don't get me wrong, this is a good hotel, there were just a few negatives that let our stay down a bit. Rooms were good, most seem to have a bath tub with scolding hot water which is great after you've been trekking and when it's chilly! Very quiet with comfy beds so excellent sleep quality. Loved the location as... More

I found this hotel by word of mouth as family members had stayed here previously and I wasn't disappointed. We'd been on a tour for 3 weeks and this was the perfect place for us as rooms were lovely and clean, they're beautifully decorated and we even got a free upgrade to super deluxe for no extra price. The hotel... More

Ganesh Himal is a nice mid-range hotel with good and clean rooms. Hot water and very good bathrooms. Hotel is located about 500m south-west from Thamel tourist ghetto, on a quiet alley. Its within walking distance from main tourist sights. There's a nice garden where one can eat dinner. One problem is the reception and booking system which are a... More

We stayed 5 nights in a deluxe triple room in this lovely hotel. The room and the bathroom were clean when we checked in, and the hotel staff came in our room everyday to tidy our beds and clean our room and bathroom. We had clean towels everyday!! The room and the bathroom were big enough for three people. We... More
