We were very glad to have chosen this hotel. We were stuck in Kathmandu during the strikes of 2006, when all the shops were closed, the streets were empty and the locals were getting beaten to a pulp by the police. We literally couldn't leave Thamel for over a week. I also managed to catch a stomach bug and if... more

We stayed in the courtyard hotel for 5 nights. The hotel is an oasis in the crazy Thamel. Our hosts Michelle and Pugan, did everything to make our stay the best one. The hotel is very clean, the location is the best, and I strongly recommend it. We stayed in the de luxe double room, beautifully decorated, our friends stayed in... more

This hotel is a gem. it made my trip. So much better than the 5 star one I stayed in Bhutan. Michelle and Pujan couldn't have been more hospitable. The room was spacious, clean, cosy with excellent karma. The jewel in the crown is the hotel's yoga classes. i had classes on the roof top each morning over looking the... more

This review is long overdue, and is the absolute least I can do for the degree of hospitality that Michelle and Pujan extended to myself and my partner during our stay there. First of all I have to say that we were actually booked in elsewhere (I won't name names as the other place was quite nice too), but we... more

it has taken me forever to write this review and it is long overdue. i spent a few night on either side of my trekking trip at the courtyard and it was not only the highlight of my trip but also my savior. i don't know what i would have done without the help of michelle and punjan. they are... more

Michelle and Pujan are fulfilling their desitiny whist assisting others to do the same :) I have never met 2 people so suited to what they are doing. They are both professional, happy and inspiring. It was an absolute pleasure to met them both and share the beginning of my trip with them and their other delightful guests :) The... more

This hotel is like going to visit your friends for a few days! We initially stayed in Kathmandu for 4 days and we were hoping to take a trip into Tibet, unfortunately the border was closed and we decided to stay in Napel. "No problem" says Pujan "where do you guys want to go?" and he organised the whole trip... more

I am leaving the courtyard for the second time this summer. It has been my home away while working on a project in Nepal and I have stayed almost 20 nights. I am so sad to leave and it is difficult to find words for how I feel. The Courtyard hotel is a fantastic place! Michelle, Pujan and Tibby made... more

This place is exactly what you are looking for on vacation ! Very nice, clean, big and quiet rooms. The management is very professional and ready to help you for everything. There is even a library (with free books, dvd and music) for nice evenings and a place to watch movies and listen music. They often organize diner for all... more

I cannot recommend highly enough the staff, services and accomodations at Hotel Courtyard - they were outgoing, friendly, and endlessly helpful. We originally wanted to pick the owners' brains on some suggestions for traveling in Nepal - little did we know we would get an entire, detailed itinerary. And while we were originally a bit leery of having things so... more
