We've been staying here every year since 2000 and it is always very friendly, helpful and above all quiet. Not enough people value the garden and the excellent food, we always eat in. A couple of years ago we had to walk out to Jiri due to bad weather and a deadline to get to a wedding in India: one... More

Great staff, friendly and so helpful. Booked online and got an instant reply. The garden is great and the breakfast excellent. If you want to be close the Thamel but away from the noise - this is the hotel for you

Myself & a friend arrived at Blue Horizon via the airport taxi recommendation. Opting for the cheap room $15 (2people) we ended up with a damp, smelly room with hard beds, not to mention the huge hole in the wall covered in mould! It seemed to me that we were shoved into the worst room there! Better hotels near by... More

I was taken to Blue Horizon by friend on arrival in Kathmandu, and didnt really expect much. But i was taken back when i got there. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, but not in a really fake way. They genuinely enjoy mixing and talking to the guests. The place its self is a little oasis of peace in... More

We arrived tired and were looking forward to an early night. Unfortunately the room had windows to the restaurant area of the hotel and we felt as if we had people talking in our own room. The noise went on till well after 10 pm. Then in the morning we got woken up prior to 6 am by people cleaning... More

We spent our best days in Nepal at the Blue Horizon. The hotel manager and the staff were absolutely helpful and attentive with us. We had the feeling of being surrounded by friends. We strongly recommend to listen to the manager's advice, he helped us at all times and organized our travel perfectly. We were going to spend only four... More

This hotel was a breath of fresh air set alongside a cool garden eating area managed by attentive, populate and attentive staff - particularly the manager who was brilliant - spent a long time getting my Nepali hat at the right jaunty angle - "Bloody good hat" he said.... Don't expect 5-star luxury - rooms are basic but clean, good... More

This Hotel is situated in an alleyway away from the crowded streets of Thamel. We were travelling with two other couples who were given very bad rooms on the ground floor. The walls have seepage about them and the rooms smelt damp. Even the beds felt damp. I was lucky to get a room on the top floor since i... More

The staff at this hotel were really helpful and arranged discounted flights and trips for me during my stay there. Plus secure storage for my suitcase for 4 weeks at no charge while I travelled outside of Kathmandu. It's a budget hotel so the rooms are modest and you shouldn't expect anything too fancy, but if you just want reliable... More

Located at the end of a long and quiet alleyway just across the street from Alobar1000, this hotel is a good place to get away from the crowded streets of Thamel. The rooms have A/C, TV, nice beds, hot showers, and plenty of sq footage. However the staff is pushy, the food is bland and takes a long time to... More
