I reached Kathmandu a little over 72 hours after the devastating earthquake of April 25 with the intention of working with relief teams in the valley. One of my local contacts took me to Thamel on the back of his bike (Kathmandu looking like a ghost town at that point in time there was no public transportation to be had)... More

This is a small hotel very well situated in the centre of the city just off a shopping street at a quiet little alley. Everything is newly painted and very clean, no bugs. Good sized room and bathroom. However, the electricity going off at a regular basis, makes the water go cold and you're lucky to have a warm shower.... More

Nice experience in Yala Peak! Clean hotel with nice and handsome staff. They give good advice for us to go other place in Nepal ! Highly recommend! Most important is there is hot water in private washroom or public washroom.

Hotel Yala Peak is located down a small street in the centre of Thamel - very peaceful but also within walking distance of the bars and restaurants. The staff are friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us and the rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant next door, Rosemary's, has great atmosphere and serves delicious food.

We stayed at Yala Peak for a long period of time (4 times in 6 weeks) and it became our base in Nepal. The rooms are very basic, but the service is the best and we got all the help we needed throughout our stay. When we returned from our trekking trip and mountainbike trip the guys in the reception... With 3 months travelling in Nepal, and a total of about 3 weeks in Kathmandu, I always end up coming back to Yala Peak. The rooms are clean, spacious and very good value. What really ensures my return though is the staff. They are all, without exception, friendly, warm and very helpful. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking... More
