Stayed here twice. Left some luggage whilst "travelling", easy access to Thamel shops, restaurants and buses to Pokhara etc. We went on their advertised tour of Kathmandu, a great way of seeing so much in a short period. Included breakfast was good and because of good weather, we ate outside. Staff very helpful. And yes, we would return. more

contacted International Guest House and booked a 'superior room' Booking verified by email. They offered to book our flights to Lukla. I replied telling them to do so with Yeti Airlines. Arrived in KTM-room not as shown on their website-staff not interested. No airline booking had been made. They then booked us with Seti airlines who proved as inneficient as... more

IG House is just a few minutes walking distance from the happening Thamel. It is no less than a museum with antique collection. Deluxe and super deluxe rooms have all the facilities in a very cheap rate. Free internet, airport pickup, nice breakfast and above all friendly atmosphere.. what more do you want from a hotel??? having breakfast in the... more

The International Guest House is one of the very nicest place to stay at Kathmandu. Great interior, great hopitality, good rooms, good breakfast and OK retaurant are the key features. The lawn is a really nice place to relax and have breakfast. The only drawback is the unavailability of backup power. Most of the time of load shedding, the hotel... more

This place is off the beaten path by about 1 minute... it is a gem. Arrived here from India... and what an oasis. Free airport pickup, friendly service, clean rooms, free wi-fi, great breakfast included in the price... nice deluxe room for $20... Highly, highly recommend this place. It's so much better than the over rated KGH... and just around... more

We stayed in a suite room in December 2008 and thought it was quite nice; we even extended our stay here (and didn't move on to Nagarkot as planned) as we were quite comfortable. I have to add though that we first viewed some smaller rooms and these were LESS nice, also when the door was first opened for us... more

Excellent, excellent, excellent!! After 10 days on the road in India (most of it spent in horrible trains!!) this place was a dream!! Airport pickup was fantastic and the room which only cost $24 a night for an ensiute double was lovely. Kathmandu is a very special place and the manager of IGH sorted us out with a driver and... more

We have been to Nepal 7 times and are pretty familiar with hotels etc. After having some trouble booking with our usual hotel, we gave IGH a try. (We had walked by it several times over the years and it looked good.) The common rooms (courtyard, dining room, etc) are quite beautiful, as is the Newari architecture. However, the mid-range... more

I recently stayed at The International Guest House before and after my trek to the Khumbu/ Everest region. My experience with the hotel was quite good. They met me at the airport and safely transported me to the hotel through the crazy Kathmandu traffic. It was wonderful to not have to take chances with another taxi driver. The hotel is... more

We booked via email with them in early October and received a pretty fast response from Mukeya, who turns out to be the owner. He confirmed fairly quickly by email response a double room for $24 including breakfast as well as a free airport pickup. At that time, he asked us to email our flight details for the pickup. I... more
