Very friendly staff! Welcome by 'namaste' (= greeting from Soul to Soul) is the brand of this resort. I was impressed by the many choices of excellent vegetarian dishes served at all times. Truly healthy. Also great to see the resort paying attention to energy-saving and promoting low water footprint life-styles, while ensuring their guest is indulged in a heavenly... More

Gokarna Forest Reserve is an elegant resort well separated from the noise, traffic, pollution and general pandemonium of Kathmandu. We found it to be a delightful place to stay during a 3-day visit to Kathmandu. The guest rooms are well appointed, the dining rooms offer outstanding meals, walking trails offer the opportunity to see many birds and other animals and... More

I really liked this place....it was quiet and peaceful....away from the hubbub of downtown Kathmandu. But that is also a double edged sword, because if you want to do something downtown (and there is a LOT to see!), you are far away. Our room was comfortable, but there is no A/C during the winter - when you select the A/C,... More

Gokarna Forest is about half an hour away from the airport and we were collected. As we had planned to stay in central Kathmandu for the rest of our holiday, the hotel kindly transferred us at no extra charge. Central Kathmandu is exciting, busy and bustling and for us this was a perfect foil. giving us the best of both... More

The hotel looked really old and crumbling. The rooms and towels were showing their state of disrepair. The food was average, the bar decent. It's a shame that a hotel is such a beautiful location is not maintained better.

We stayed here as part of a 16-person tour group and were treated very well. I especially want to say that the staff was very courteous, efficient and friendly, including the security force men outside; I think they were there more to ward off the monkeys than anything else ;-). Food was excellent, if a little heavy on Chinese fare.... More

We just returned from 5 nights at this hotel in fascinating Kathmandu. I would stay here again for usre If I wanted to feel safe and distant from the teeming city. I would not stay here if I wanted to pop out of the hotel to do a little sight seeing or shop on my own. Armed guards patrolled the... More

This is a nice hotel in a park above Kathmandu. The advantage is it is much more peaceful than being in the city, although if you want to tour the city or walk around it's not a great option (they do have nature walks though.) The food was ok the service was excellent. The rooms were basic but well maintained.... More
