This is a old, charming hotel in Tibetan style and with mainly Tibetan staff. Rooms are large and comfy. Restaurant is good especially if in a large group, one can book in advance their fantastic momos and have a great time! Location is good, in The periphery of Thamel, just 5 minutes from Kathmandu guest house.

Great place, great food, homely atmosphere, great people in Diki, Dechen and part time Ugen :-), close to everything in Thamel, laid back and relaxing, meditation area on the roof. Can't say enough about the Utse, it has been my home from home over the last 15 plus years, just arriving outside the hotel is a thrill.
