While not the most modern of hotels in Kathmandu, the Utse Hotel is as friendly a hotel as you can find. We were picked up at the airport with a few other travelers and made our way to Hotel Utse. From the beginning everyone was extremely friendly! We stayed in the Utse for 3 nights in March 08. The hotel has a great location and we found the staff and Tibetan owners to be both helpful and very friendly. Good point - good location and good price. Bad point - we booked flights using the front desk staff and found out that they were trying to con us out of $100 by saying there was only business seats on the plane available which we later found out not to be true once we got the tickets.
