I had been to this hotel in 2012, 2014 and now this year. Arrival in Nepal was normal and I spent my first night at Dwarika's with no problem at all. The next day we flew to Badrapur and then on to Ilam and finally Dobate for the Red Panda Network project. Whilst up in the hills the earthquake struck.... More

Outside, high walls that hide the beauty inside. My husband and I stayed 4 days at the hotel. As we entered, we were delighted with the internal gardens, the reception, the lobby of the hotel. All in typical architectural style of Nepal and the hotel strives to preserve pieces of art that tell us the history of the country. Our... More

My wife and I checked into this beautiful hotel less than 4 hours before the earthquake that devastated this wonderful country struck. It is impossible to fully describe the maelstrom of this tragic event. Words do not do it justice; it can only be viscerally experienced to understand its overwhelming effect. Within minutes of the initial shock, the entire staff... More

Beautifully appointed hotel amid the chaos of the city. Quiet and a joy, especially when you have just finished your first trek in Nepal. I hope that the hotel did not suffer much damage. I have very fond memories of the peoples of Nepal.

I stayed in this incredible hotel for a few days after an Everest base camp trek a couple of years ago and the earthquake has brought the memories flooding back. With all the suffering and carnage wrought by the earthquake in the city, I hope this place wasn't too badly damaged and that the staff are OK. It was a... More

I had stayed at Dwarikas a few years ago so already knew that it was an exceptional hotel - a unique location and wonderful staff led by the unstoppable Sangeeta. However it was the events of the Kathmandu Earthquake that unexpectedly led me to revisit. The day after the earthquake I spent a fruitless 11 hours at Kathmandu Airport trying... More

We stayed at this hotel twice during out time in Kathmandu. First upon arrival from USA and second departing on the morning of the earthquake. We had a wonderful stay both times. Our junior suite 410 was outstanding and probably the largest triple we have ever had in any of our travels worldwide. It was comfortable and spacious, with excellent... More

We stayed at Dwaika’s in early April, leaving only ten days before the quake. Our memories may not correspond to current reality. But we couldn’t stay at a hotel as marvelous as Dwarika’s without proclaiming its excellence on Trip Advisor, even if some things may have changed. Dwarika’s doesn’t seem like a hotel. It’s more like a small village, with... More

My husband and me did not stay in here, as our return flight was too late, so I choose this hotel for half day settle down and to enjoy a quality hotel. We moved from the garden restaurant to the fusion bar, the atmosphere in here is very warm and considerate especially Ram, Summit, and Namuna. Namuna gave us a... More

We spent 3 nights at the Dwarika's few days before the earthquake. The hotel's authentic architecture with original Newar windows, artifacts and decoration overall makes the experience really unique. The room are spacious, well decorated and very clean. The restaurants are also great. The Japanese is run by a very famous Japanese chef offers great dishes. The Nepalese, with its... More
