After reading the previous reviews I was a little concerned whether Dwarika could be too much "museum like", which I personally don't like (have been in some hotels were time has stood still and that look more like museams than hotels, eg Illyria House in Pretoria, and the experience was terrible). For my relief, in Dwarika the old and new... More

Dwarikas is definitely one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. All the staff will go out of their way to assist you and the food is magnificent. Not to mention the amazing traditional architecture visible throughout the hotel.

My two daughters and I stayed here for only one night but I so wish it was longer. It is one of the coolest, most beautiful hotels I have stayed it. It has separate building on the compound with beautiful woodwork, carvings and lush landscaping. Brick and stone paths take you around the property and the birds are chirping... It's... More

After the noise and dust of most of Kathmandu - or the rigors of trekking in the Himalayas - this is the place to "come home" to. Behind the gated wall is a small paradise - quiet gardens, lovely rooms, and expert service. A fine restaurant on property - restful public rooms for reading, etc. - intriguing gift shop -... More

The hotel's architecture is beautiful and the gardens are gorgeous. The rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. The food is very tasty with ingredients from the owners' farm. Staff was very courteous. The heating was a bit inefficient in many parts of the hotel including the bar. I tried to work in the bar during the day and it... More

This is an excellent choice when staying in the busy city of Kathmandu. The hotel offers 5 starts service, the rooms are clean. We have taken the Junior suite and it over looks the pool. Very nice scenery. That being said, I have once stayed at the Hyatt regency instead and I still think that is the number 1 Hotel... More

This is a beautiful experience. The hotel is a testimony of the dedication of Mr. Dwarikas, who spent a lifetime collecting and renovating architectonic details from the area, who are now a part of the hotel. The level of service, attentive, sincere, is as best as it can get anywhere in the world. Only 5 minutes from the airport. Highly... More

We stayed here at the start and end of our trip to Nepal. Both times the rooms were very comfortable but our final stay was particularly pleasant as we were accommodated in a suite with loads of space. We enjoyed the authentic food in the basement restaurant and the peaceful ambience

Dwarika's Hotel may just be the best thing in Kathmandu. In the chaos of the city, this place is a real haven. Somehow walking through into the courtyard the sound of the bustle outside disappears and you find yourself in a quiet, historical property. Much of the detail is antique - Mr Dwarika rescued cultural artefacts over the years and... More
