We arrived in Kathmandu after a long journey, and was delivered by airport taxi to the wrong hotel, which wasn't very nice. Finally managed to make it to Kathmandu guest house where we were greeted by very friendly staff and a lovely welcome drink. We had arrived in the off season and so they had great 40-50% discounts on the... More

I have been a guest at the Kathmandu Guest House several times, starting in the 1980's, and I have to say that it keeps on getting better, especially under the very excellent management of Nabin. Honestly, I cannot understand why anyone would want to stay anywhere else in Thamel: the staff are amazingly helpful and go out of their way... More

Well I have stayed at the KTM guesthouse a few times in the last few years. I like it tremendously, it has a great location and is easy to get a taxi to and from. Getting a true garden facing room is a little mysterious, it seems it is easier said than done. You can walk to any number of... More

I came here as a group of backpackers. Whilst the super basic rooms advertised on the website at $2 looked clean and fine once we got there they would only give us a room for $15/night and it was grim. It felt extremely neglected, mattresses were dirty and the bathroom downstairs was worse than many public conveniences. For a few... More

KGH is in the perfect location in Thamel, shielded behind the gates from the hectic and quite frantic busyness of the streets of the Thamel Market Place. With the place itself there is a coffee shop, book shop, massage centre, hair dresser, jewellers and trinkets. There is also a travel desk which can asset you with tours or airport transfers... More

KTG is a peaceful oasis in the center of Thamel. Just a few stepts from the hectic of the old town, you find a beautiful garden and a nice cafe. Tehre are various romm categories, choose the one which fits your budget.

Perfect location in the heart of Thamel with everything you need within a stones throw away. The hotel itself is perfect in everything you'd expect - clean rooms, comfortable beds and ample rooms to spill the contents of your suitcase and repack. The wifi worked well but the hotel is on the main power grid without a backup so expect... More

Staying in KGH has been a very pleasant experience, both as a tourist, and as a business traveller. The rooms with a garden view are very comfortable, and a good place to refresh oneself after sightseeing Kathmandu. And it is an added plus that everybody knows where it is - it is a landmark in Kathmandu. All staff are very... More

On a trip to Nepal in 2013 my friends and I stayed at the Guest House both on our arrival and our departure. The room I had upon arrival was not great but I was so exhausted I ignored the bare bones bathroom and the hard bed. We mentioned our lack of satisfaction to the gentlemen who manage the Guest...
