KGH sits bang inside Thamel. Its the Soho , Times square ,Sukhumvit , or Baga beach etc equivalent in Kathmandu . Loads of shops for trinkets , trekking gear , restaurants and bars and other things (including people asking you if you want hashish , marijuana , ganja etc ) around in Thamel . The main property is about 100... More

KGH is the perfect place. I love the fact that they have rooms for any kind of traveller ranging from the dirt cheap (but clean!!!) backpacker/volunteer rooms to the luxurious deluxe sweets. I have had the pleasure of staying in both type of rooms, the backpacker one during previous visits to Nepal and the deluxe suite during my visit with... More

This is a good choice if you want to be in the heart of tourist Thamel. The location is ideal & the well-known hotel is a key landmark, making it easy to find. I stayed in the older annex for 4 nights which set me back around $30/night. Rooms vary and you could easily pay $100 for a spot in... More

Booked & paid for this hotel through Goibibo (Indian based booking site). Received confirmation of availability & booking but the hotel refused to accept the booking on the basis I had not paid enough money. A long process over several days, numerous emails & meetings with Hotel management with them firstly saying they had no booking (I provided them with... More

Great concierge and travel desk, rooms a little expensive but worth it for the location. Free breakfast also makes it a great choice. Would reccomend if you want a safe but relatively cheap place to stay in Kathmandu.

The location is excellent. Breakfast is included in the room but is very basic. The other meals were great. The staff great and extremely helpful. I had a wonderful long weekend. I will definitely return for a visit.

Devoid of Hustle-bustle of Thamel market , while its situated amidst the market area. It has got beautiful garden , go for garden facing rooms upon request ! The service was quick , the food was awesum although the drinks were bit expensive as compare to otehr places in nepal , the architecture of the hotel was pleasing , the... More

KGH is a good option to stay in Kathmandu. Honestly we were expecting more, due to the hight cost, respect to others accommodation in the city. Anyway, the city is pretty chaotic, and having such place, with the garden, and several common areas to relax, is the best choice you can do. the staff is gentle and professional. Often the... More

We planned to stay in KGH with a high expectation. But ultimately its was a didmal experience. The front desk guy showed unwelcoming and irritated attitude. The rooms were a bit shady with pungent odour. Breakfast experience was also horrible. Rain water was dropping over open food served not noticed by caterers and found mosquitos within food. Overall hotel showed a... More

This was the third time I have stayed at Kathmandu Guest House. While it is no longer the basic travel crossroads it was then, and it's gussied up to a great extent, it is a delightful place. It's a great place to shed the jet lag after flying to Kathmandu, and a welcome, quiet oasis away from the frenzy of... More
