Went for a meeting and lunch over there. The hotel is big and fascinating. I had a perfect meeting with a perfect lunch (excellent service, tasty food, along with very soothing instrumental music). Although, I had to pay for WiFi (it's not free everywhere) but I don't mind it at all.

I was in Kathmandu when the April 2015 earthquake hit. The hotel manager showed EXCELLENT leadership to make sure that his guests were safe, reassured, and well fed in the aftermath of the earthquake. Both he, and his staff, went way beyond what was necessary, to ensure the safety and comfort of the hotel guests, especially at a time what... More

A hotel par excellence, with an authentic feel, right in the heart of Kathmandu.Located off Durbar marg,it is centrally located, but has that "old world" charm.Courteous staff.Lovely walking track with a nice pond at the back for morning exercise, together with a tennis court.Rooms are nice but lack some modern conveniences such as automatic switching off of light etc.All kinds of wine in the... Stayed in the hotel only for a night on August 5th and was thoroughly satisfied. Nice room, fast wifi, great location and very nice staff. Breakfast was a let down but not bad enough to rate a star less. I will recommend it to those looking for a peaceful stay in the posh location in Nepal.

We stayed here in October/November, 2014, before the earthquake. Facility is excellent, lovely garden area, nice pool, service was excellent, location in Kathmandu is excellent. Kathmandu has multiple power outages daily, but can't blame that on the hotel. We enjoyed the Y&Y when we arrived in Kathmandu, but it was even more appreciated after returning from the Khumbu region's more... More

I am grateful I got to see Kathmandu and this grand hotel before the quake. Place was lovely, with different rooms for different experiences. Did some walkabouting and twas a great base for all my explorations. I sure hope to come back soon.

Stayed with family, good location great view, but hotels seems look old. Room was nice comfortable but renovation required. Food was average nothing great. Heard lot about this hotel, but didn't live up to the expectation. Staff badly required training.Good business hotel but badly required attention towards upgradation.

The look is good with brass in the lifts dominating the mind. The people are courteous but the food needs lots of effort. The effort to have freshly cut fruits which are reasonable cannot be more emphasized. It is at the best a 4 star property which is rich in heritage but very average in maintenance. Needs efforts

Yak & Yeti was once, apparently, *the* place to stay for westerners looking to suck the marrow from the bones of a poor, remote, but interesting country. And even now it hosts the headquarters of the World Bank in South Asia. You definitely get a whiff of the British Raj at Yak & Yeti - more than a whiff, in... More
